If you still need more evidence that capitalist commerce and industry has thrown Earth's ecosystem WAY out of balance, take a look at this graph.

Ice coverage on the North American Great Lakes should be around 40% at this time of year.

But right now it's less than 3%.

@breadandcircuses It's really ugly. The annual winter study for Isle Royale was cancelled this winter due to the lack of ice. First time in 65 years. Pretty sad.

@breadandcircuses I just use my own eyes.When was a kid I remember winter use to be cold and snowy all winter long now you never know if its going to be 70 degrees and tornadoes.

I was up to the Superior shore last week, and was amazed at how little ice there was. The only places I saw it were in protected bays, and then not all of them.
