Over the last three months, the temperatures assessed across all latitude bands were warmer than the 1951-1980 average, except around the Southern Ocean/Antarctic.

@ZLabe Thank you again for sharing a cool plot. I just wondered why you used a rather uncommon reference period, has it to do with data availability?

@hawe11 This is the standard reference period that is officially used by NASA, who produces the dataset GISTEMPv4. See https://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/faq/#q102.
