The White House dismissed as "absolutely false" a New York Times report on Wednesday that said US President Joe #Biden had told an ally he was weighing whether to continue his bid for reelection in November
@GottaLaff Speaking about anonymous sources, there's this one from inside the NYT:
“These Biden people think that the problem is Peter Baker or whatever reporter they’re mad at that day,” one Times journalist said. “It’s A.G. (Sulzberger - the owner of the Times - who openly advocated pushing NYT to the right.) He’s the one who is pissed Biden hasn’t done any interviews and quietly encourages all the tough reporting on his age.” - Politico
@GottaLaff don't think I've seen anyone mention my question yet: what about Ohio? Is it no longer a battleground state to such an extent that the Democrats will simply accept not being on the ballot? Not like they have the luxury of waiting until the convention.
@fencepost "Democrats already planned an early virtual roll call vote to put him on the ballot in Ohio, which had a deadline earlier than the Democratic convention. The vote is no longer needed — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine in May signed a law waiving the requirement as in years past — but Democrat leaders altered the rules to allow the advanced nomination, anyway. Now, it could be used as a tool to stop infighting over the president’s candidacy." https://www.nationalreview.com/news/democrats-consider-nominating-biden-a-month-early-report/
@GottaLaff So either the NY Times is fabricating news, or isn't adequately verifying stories that Sulzberger likes.
I remember decades ago the NY Times wanted at least one corroborating source before they would publish something.
@GottaLaff If I see a clip of Joe Biden saying some words, which may be stammered, and I can tell it is not A.I., then I will consider what Joe is trying to tell me.
@eldubuu Yeah, that damn Voting Rights Act. And lowest Black unemployment numbers, and helping DACA recipients, and Biden picketing with unions, and...
Here's an idea. Instead of whining, do something constructive. We all want Trump to lose. #Toodles @Dodo_sipping
Too often do we find ourselves (myself included) pointing out the negatives and not focusing a large amount of fairly progressive stuff that Biden/Harris have accomplished. I'm glad you did that here. Ty!
@GottaLaff@Dodo_sipping better yet we ALL come together as Americans, dems, reps, I, people of color, gay, female, male etc…and vote to save our democracy. Who cares about who represents the Democratic Party…..this election, we have a country to save.
