While several EU countries are experimenting with 4 day work weeks, the Greek government now raises the work week to six days and a total of 48 working hours.
41 percent of Greeks voted for the New Democracy party, and this is what they got in return from their new Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
@randahl
Question is: how many effective hours of work per day in this new organisation? How many effective hours a week?
I mean: Greece is a country where, in summer, there can be intense heatwaves. Economicaly-wise or environmentaly-wise, air-conditionning is not a viable solution in the long run
Therefore in many southern countries people make a break from noon to 3 o'clock. Hence a shortened workday, while people in more temperate areas experience lunch breaks ranging from 45 to 90 minutes.
@randahl Greece's government who after moaning about losing its young people, and the countries skills, to other countries, as Greeks search for better opportunities, and a possibly better life...checks notes introduce a 6 day working week!
@randahl
for info, it is a right wing party, just wanted to inform people for them not to be confused :)
"it is a liberal-conservative political party in Greece. In contemporary Greek politics, New Democracy has been the main centre-right to right-wing political party and one of the two major parties along with its historic rival, the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK)."
