Reality check: #Biden is the nominee of the Democratic Party, nominated by voters in primaries across the country. Unless the POTUS, himself, decides to quit--which he won't--that issue is settled.
The discussion that is going on now was timely a year ago, when few wanted to have it.
I mean this with respect: we all care about the future of our country.
One of the reasons we feel that Biden should make way for a new, younger candidate (who might appeal to the vital cohort of GenZ) is that we don't have a cult of personality as the Rebublicans do.
And as much as I would love to see Trump in jail, it is the entire Republican party that is veering into Fascism. Were Trump to step down, a MIke Johnson, or a Brett Kavanaugh would take his place. The same ends.
@GottaLaff This is not reality. The DNC can vote for someone else, and they should. Whitmer is an extremely effective and likeable candidate. Why should America have to compromise? We can and should demand what we want. We should have been demanding what we want all along (some of us were), but it’s not too late until the right to voice what you think is best for the country is taken away.
@GottaLaff “the discussion that is going on right was timely a year ago, when few wanted to have it.”
This is gaslighting aka disinformation at its finest. There were constant discussions and numerous articles about this in early 2023. Only 37% of dems supported another Biden run, according to a Feb 2023 poll. If he supports Biden staying in race, fine, but miss me with the lies please.
@GottaLaff he’s a great president, a great man, a great candidate, the only one who beat Trump and stopped the 4 years of horror. He also has a great VP, great cabinet, appoints great judges. There is no downside to Biden because his VP is exactly the fierce and smart young lion Dems say they want.
