The Democrats have impressive, sharp debaters like Jamie Raskin, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Bernie Sanders.
And yet they show up to the most important battle for American democracy in our lifetime, with a guy who forgets the name of his own healthcare program.
@randahl Yes, which ironically is the excuse as to why Dems keep picking old white men and PoC instead of admitting to racism. Obama was such a wonderful breath of fresh air!
@randahl .. now tell me when a debate is between only certain people why would you think someone else should do it ???
Just because a 81 yr.old who actually works looking after a COUNTRY & travels to others ,meeting with others & DOING ACTUAL PURPOSEFUL BUSINESS FOR America has a not so good moments after working ALL DAY & has to DEAL with A WHINING drugged up FELON who uses a DICTATORS stance .. ONLY LIES & SPEAKS IN DECEPTION & BLAMES OTHERS FOR HIS OWN BAD JUDGEMENT & OWN FAULT
@Lstn2urmama I agree. There can be plenty of reasonable explanations as to why, Biden underperformed. But I am afraid this will not help him in the eyes of American voters.
@randahl The best debate tactic to use on someone like Trump is to not recognize his existence. No one should ever “debate” him. It’s just a publicity opportunity for him.
@randahl Maybe, but one of the key takeaways from Trump, isn’t his ability to debate or how good anyone else is, it’s his inability and obliviousness to defeat. You can show how wrong he is and he’ll still “win.” This works because it puts him dead center on the stage.
It’s so obvious when you look at how much publicity there is afterwards and it doesn’t matter how much Trump was wrong or insane in front of the public. What becomes the ongoing narrative is how “whoever it happens to be” couldn’t shut Trump up. He won’t shut the hell up even when he’s proven dead wrong. In fact, he thrives on escalating conflict.
Again, you are probably right that Raskin is better suited to debate. What I am saying is that it doesn’t matter how good of a debater one is. It’s only going to change who attempted to burn through Trump’s gaslighting and the people who should be swayed really won’t be.
@robbienorlyn you may be right about the majority of voters. But the problem is, this election will be decided by the shifts of perhaps 1, 2, or 3 percent. And if Biden losses just marginally on being unable to defeat Trump verbally, that can be fatal for his campaign.
@randahl it is an under reported or talked about thing that a solid chunk of responsibility for where we are is that the democratic party has been shit at their job for years. It shows.
The media literally had to tell Americans “this may be the most critical moment in the campaign” just in case anyone used critical thought on their own. Hilarious.
@randahl If it was AOC or Sanders they would be killed over and over for being "socialists." And they wouldn't get the independents that are needed because of that. They would both debate better but that wouldn't translate to a November win. The mainstream media here is going so far out of its way to help trump its sickening.
