Do you use emoji in your written feedback? I love the clarity of symbolic emojis for communicating tone in feedback!
For written feedback I include:
❇️ for appreciation or strengths
❇️📈 for incremental growth (aka, all is green, and here's how to expand your impact)
✴️ / ⏸️ for constructive feedback on something to change
⚠️ for cautions on upcoming things to be aware of while things are still going well
❇️🔁 for reiterating feedback to emphasize valuable things to continue
✴️🔁 for reiterating concerns to emphasize behaviors that haven't changed that remain a concern, reminding them to please keep working on that.
Symbolic emoji help folks distinguish "this needs to change" from "maybe consider this growth idea but I'd be happy with your work regardless"
