My first time seeing one in person. Yikes

MITREsteve ,
@MITREsteve@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry I’m not an Elon fan. I do think they look ugly. I do think that from a climate perspective if you are planning to get a big truck anyway , an EV truck would reduce the most amount of C02.

jaycee ,
@jaycee@toot.community avatar

@jerry I did a similar ‘design’ as 15 year old made from balsa wood. I thought my design was crap then, about 1966, I haven’t changed my mind.

DoctorDNS ,
@DoctorDNS@masto.ai avatar

@jerry Such an ugly vehicle. Looks really cheap.

SecurityWriter ,
@SecurityWriter@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry They’re just so inefficient in every way, and I can see the panel warp from here - this would drive me insane, especially if I’d paid the asking price.

They’re apparently coming to the UK and I look forward to laughing at one.

druid ,
@druid@toot.wales avatar

@jerry Ugliest thing on wheels. What a disaster of a design.

mastodonmigration ,
@mastodonmigration@mastodon.online avatar

@jerry

One came over the crest of a hill straight at us today. The driver probably couldn't see anything. The front of the thing is enomormous.

chillybot ,
@chillybot@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry
I just saw my first one today with graffiti like "Cybertruck" on the back. It looks really bad lmao

jigmedatse ,
@jigmedatse@social.jigmedatse.com avatar

@jerry spotted a Tesla driving by... I feel there's one Tesla I know of in town, which makes me, "yeah sure, you weren't aware at the time you bought it." Heck, I pretty much wasn't aware. I mean, I knew he was a tech bro jerk... but that's not quite the level of evil that I would say, "don't buy anything his companies produce, if you can avoid it."

Starbrother ,
@Starbrother@universeodon.com avatar

@jerry Yeah, they're fucking eye sores.

fondoffawns ,
@fondoffawns@nerdculture.de avatar

@jerry they are jaw-droppingly ugly

novaTopFlex ,
@novaTopFlex@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry Is this the Tesla Cybertruck or a rival model of the kind?

jerry OP ,
@jerry@infosec.exchange avatar

@novaTopFlex it was the Tesla brand truck

KevinFlynn ,
@KevinFlynn@c.im avatar

@jerry
Looks like something the lazy kid made for a pinewood derby

chad ,
@chad@vault37.xyz avatar

@jerry I love when people so easily let me know that we’ll have nothing in common.

jsh ,
@jsh@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry there are a couple out where I am. They’re so ugly and annoying to drive behind in my sedan since there’s no window/windshield view to peer through to see anything ahead, just a Roblox-inspired hunk of obnoxiously reflective metal.

SpaceLifeForm ,

@jerry

The one I spotted a week or so ago, was also in a parking lot. But the paintjob was not that bad. Yet.

Thorium ,
@Thorium@social.linux.pizza avatar

@jerry The tires are almost $500 each 😳. Way to own the libs.

jerry OP ,
@jerry@infosec.exchange avatar

@Thorium in fairness, I had to replace the tires on my expedition and they were about $480 each. Truck tires are expensive.

Thorium ,
@Thorium@social.linux.pizza avatar

@jerry I believe they wear through tires extra fast.

agent_ink ,
@agent_ink@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry There should be a rule that requires all Tesla Cybertrucks to have this wrap on them 😉

@jerry@infosec.exchange avatar
boomhauer ,
@boomhauer@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry my reaction every time I see a Cybertruck in person

nieldk ,
@nieldk@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry here it would get a ticket, for parking outside the marked area 😂

jerry OP ,
@jerry@infosec.exchange avatar

@nieldk outside of parking in disabled spots, you can’t really get a ticket in a private parking lot around here.

nieldk ,
@nieldk@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry ohh here you can, and they are quite aggressive about it

jahanson ,
@jahanson@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry Saw this earlier this week

video/mp4

jerry OP ,
@jerry@infosec.exchange avatar

@jahanson that is hilarious

SecureOwl ,
@SecureOwl@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry you’ve probably seen a couple before and didn’t realize it, they blend in quite well

ServersOnFire ,
@ServersOnFire@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry I saw one for the first time in my town a couple weeks ago. My initial impression is that it is way uglier in person than I would have guesssed. I think it had a business name on the sides of it, so they bought it for marketing.

vcsjones ,
@vcsjones@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry the shopping carts look better and have more space.

NoTheOtherNick ,
@NoTheOtherNick@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry Like it was designed by an 8-year-old, but missing the dinosaurs and rocket engine.

jerry OP ,
@jerry@infosec.exchange avatar

It’s much larger than I thought it was. I suspect it’s close to the same length as my extended length Expedition, but I can carry a cat, a dog, 4 adults and a month’s worth of stuff in my expedition. I think the cyber truck can fit a few bags of groceries

bleakfuture ,
@bleakfuture@techhub.social avatar

@jerry maga hats are about $100k cheaper and send the same message.

jerry OP ,
@jerry@infosec.exchange avatar

@bleakfuture they probably have more room in them too

bleakfuture ,
@bleakfuture@techhub.social avatar

@jerry if you include where normal heads would hold the brain I’m sure the maga hat skull has tons of room. The hollow part in a magas skull should be called a frunk

jerry OP ,
@jerry@infosec.exchange avatar

@bleakfuture “brunk”

lapt0r ,
@lapt0r@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry I passed one on the street, they're like lifted F-150s for 4chan dorks

eljefedsecurit ,
@eljefedsecurit@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry the only thing it's good for is hauling a big ego coz it really can't carry much else.

gangrif ,
@gangrif@social.undrground.org avatar

@jerry They are quite big. And I joke, but the bed is on par with other lifestyle trucks. Which are trucks only in the sense that they have a bed rather than a passenger compartment. I prefer my enclosed suburban-like used escalade (for the same reasons you seem to like your expedidtion).

number137 ,
@number137@mastodon.social avatar

@jerry and you can also keep your dignity with an Expedition

EricFielding ,
@EricFielding@mastodon.social avatar

@jerry The Cybertruck is much faster in going from 0 to 60 miles per hour than your Expedition, so it does have one advantage for those with big egos.

jjbaumgartner ,
@jjbaumgartner@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry I was also surprised at the size. It's also somehow uglier in person.

GuillaumeRossolini ,
@GuillaumeRossolini@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry give one to Simone Giertz and watch what happens 🤣 (ref is: truckla)

pkprotoplasm ,
@pkprotoplasm@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@jerry Perhaps, but can your Expedition brick itself in the rain? Checkmate atheists.

jerry OP ,
@jerry@infosec.exchange avatar

@pkprotoplasm that is a good point. I don’t live in fear of my expedition bricking itself

tevruden ,
@tevruden@nonexiste.net avatar

@jerry someone on the other website was boasting it could hold a whole shopping cart full of dirt.

ForiamCJ ,
@ForiamCJ@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry

  • a few bags worth of groceries.. AND a Lifetime full of regret! 😉
b00ga ,
@b00ga@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry omg, a black one drove by me on the highway a few days ago. Compared to the other vehicles on the road, it also seemed a lot bigger than I expected.
