Because I'm starting to attract some followers on my bridged Mastodon to Bluesky account, I figured I would let them know that if they want to talk to me regularly (and want me to know about their reposts or likes) they need to bridge their BS account to Mastodon by doing the following:

  1. Follow @ap.brid.gy
  2. Follow http://Tim-Eagon.dice.camp.ap.brid.gy

More info here:

I can't respond to you directly from here without you bridging your account.

@Tim_Eagon I spend way more time there than here these days, and it's nice to see your posts again. I keep thinking about bridging, but I don't think it'll connect my existing account there with this account, and I don't want to create a new account.

@MrF It would not. Your BS account would appear as a new one in the Fediverse.

@Tim_Eagon I didn't realize Bluesky linked to Mastodon. I don't know how I feel about that. That said, if it helps this place, I'm probably for it.

@Craig They didn't. Someone created a bridge between them. You can bridge from Mastodon to Bluesky and Bluesky to Mastodon.

@Tim_Eagon Got it. And I should clarify "help this place." That can sound derogatory. I meant help people find this community and/or grow it.

@Tim_Eagon Didn't we vote to block Bluesky on the theory that no billionaire can be trusted? Or was that Threads? @sage

@pteryx @sage That was Threads.
