Google disabled their AI so it will no longer give you a stupid answer when searching for "cheese not sticking to pizza," but the 11-year old Reddit shit post advising to use Elmer's Glue as a remedy that the AI regurgitated yesterday is still the top ranked search result and that's probably even worse.

@Tim_Eagon yeah that's what I was shooting for. That "there's no African countries starting with K. The closest is Kenya, but that starts with a K." bit.

Been like that for years. I've been aware of it for a year. Google has been on notice, can't seem to fix it. Every time someone complains about a new bit of Google stupidity, I check if it still doesn't know about Kenya.

@Tim_Eagon make it make sense, my work laptop has everything locked behind MS 2FA, and MS usually doesn't communicate with itself. Turn on computer, MS 2FA for Outlook. Then MS 2FA for teams. Then MS 2FA for our VPN. Then MS 2FA to sync OneDrive. Then MS 2FA to go to a website I need. Then non-MS 2FA to log onto another website. Then MS 2FA because the VPN locked me out again. That's every day, except occasionally I get lucky and do one 2FA and MS remembers that it knows me and stops asking.

I started watching Columbo at the start of the pandemic (my Dad was a big fan of the show, so I had watched some of the later TV movies with him as a kid), but kind of dropped it. I thought I got farther, but I guess I stopped in the middle of season 3. Started watching again tonight with Robert Culp's third appearance as the murderer.

@Tim_Eagon I watched it for about a month or two after my daughter was born. It was a low-impact, low-overhead choice for binge entertainment while I held a small, hungry potato for hours on end.

So Post News is the first post-Twitter casualty, but it won't be the last. I think it's clear that in terms of for profit microblogging, Twitter and Threads are going to be the ones to survive (I have zero confidence in the long term viability of such services as Cohost, Hive Social, Spoutible, and even Blue Sky). While I realize that and the aren't free, they aren't beholden to same market forces as the others and I feel they will continue to endure.

@Tim_Eagon we'll see. It'll be interesting as all these services start trying to find ways to monetize. BlueSky has been pretty lively, though not as active as Twitter in its heyday.

(I use cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom, and add a can of water, which is not part of the recipe but trust me it's good.)

Let me know if you think of anything else to add. I feel like it needs something. Green beans definitely takes it most of the way there. Celery slices would probably work too.

Ooh my wife had the idea to top with cranberry sauce, that's something too.
