maybe we should write something about these sorts of audio adaptors... in this age of losing access to media because of technological change, there's something in acknowledging that actually we've always had to come up with ways to work around "progress"
@mediaarchaeologylab wait, how is this even working? It appears to have its own playback head but claims no batteries are required? Can you daisy-chain this with one of those terrible cassette to headphone jack adapters?
@phooky we do not have one currently in the building but that is on the list of things to try... that and one of the bluetooth-to-cassette adaptors. we may need to do a little teardown at some point though.
@phooky it powers itself off the internal voltage of the 8track player though - idk how familiar you are with them, but most don't power up until you insert a cartridge (the cartridge completes the circuit)
