I'm not generally annoyed by discussion of D&D, and can even often participate, but the period of ramp-up to new books is tiring.

I don't have judgment for anyone; I've got my list of crap companies I buy from - but I'm just.... not going to be giving Wizards any money.

@LeviKornelsen Luckily there are so much alternatives. :) Osric, lots of 3rd party modules for all kinds of editions, books from the used market etc, we're really blessed. :)

@LeviKornelsen I've had a love/hate relationship with D&D for a long time, but I've decided that I'm just going to love it. I'm just not going to use the parts I don't like, such as:
-Race/Class restrictions
-Measuring encumbrance in "coins"
-demihuman level limits
-Wizards of the Coast
-Gygaxian "fuck those players" monsters like rust monsters and disenchanters

I just deleted Risk from my phone, as part of a Hasbro boycott. I'll still play in a D&D group if that's what's happening, but DMing, or giving Hasbro a penny? Nope.
