For the longest time I have wondered, why Trump’s CFO Allan Weisselberg would lie for Trump, and even go to jail for him.
This week the trial reveals, Trump promised Weisselberg 750,000 dollars if he would keep quiet. So he did.
You read that right — Trump who claims, he never paid ANY hush money, has also paid hush money to his own employee to keep him from testifying about Trump’s crimes.
Whoa, whoa, WHOA! I cannot imagine this clause could hold up in court, if the state subpoenaed him to testify, with immunity. Don't negotiate it, just give it, so that he cannot plead the fifth, and stick him on the stand. If he doesn't answer, or lies, charge him, and toss him back in the slammer.
After all we've heard of the concept of immunity, not just for the Oval, but of assigning immunity from prosecution to a fact witness, it's hard to imagine there is not a way to legally do this. Weisselberger/Trump cannot have a legal termination agreement that results in an illegality, making that and like portions of it severable from the whole.
I don't understand how anyone can be willing to go to prison for money. Our lifespan is limited and there isn't enough money to go to prison for it. Money is not worth losing family, friends, and your life or putting it on hold.
