@GottaLaff people think you’re joking, but… Covid damages the immune system, so every disease that’s currently surging is exponentially worse because of Trump.
@GottaLaff I read somewhere that there's a shortage of long acting penicillin, the main treatment for syphilis. Manufacturer can't keep up with demand.

@MissConstrue@Skepticat You should Google it, but what is so upsetting, other than future issues, is that I contracted it ... how? The first time, I was not taking antibiotics, so... somewhere, I came into contact with some contaminated surface. And I was nowhere near hospitals, clinics, etc. Total fluke.
So now my life is in danger forever, bc now, when I DO take antibiotics, I get it again. & now that I've had it 2x, I'm even MORE susceptible. It's hell.
So very contagious. Patients are in isolation in the hospital, as you already know with a father who practiced.
It is miserable, and once you have it, it is so hard to control.
It is very scary to think of life without antibiotic treatment.

@Skepticat Thank you. I've been SO lucky that my cases were mild, just washed my hands, kept the house clean, Vancomycin kicked it, no prob with Mr. Laffy getting it. But I worry about the next time. @MissConstrue
Now if only we could get Biden to stand up in front of the cameras and say, "Here's the deal, Jack - breathing oxygen is important and everyone should do it!"
