Confirmed: According to the Governor of Odessa Oblast, Oleh Kiper, Russia used a ballistic missile with cluster munitions against civilians walking in a crowded area in Odessa yesterday.
5 people and a family dog were killed, 32 injured. Among the victims were a four-year-old child and a teenager.
This was day 795. Is there a limit to what atrocities we will allow Russia to subject the Ukrainians to?
How long will we wait, before we stop the Hitler of our time?
@randahl
My understanding was that the US had staged equipment in Germany and it was ready to go as soon as the aid package was signed. I didn't and don't expect that there will be public announcements about its arrival and will be put into use immediately. This is Putin's last gasp. He will lose.
@randahl As in all complex systems, somewhere there is a 'tipping point'. Once we 'pass' the tipping point, we will truly act. The key 'hope' is that we won't be too late.
@randahl Clearly the politicians are helplessly mired in their own self-interest(s). Only accidentally will they stumble on something useful or helpful.
@randahl I think Macron thinks he can take that mantle. I'm doubtful.
Actually from a political perspective, it would be most intriguing if someone from the right filled the gap and thereby changed all the dynamics. Perhaps Meloni?!?!?
FWIW. It might be good to truly shake things up in unexpected ways.
