Not sure why your post was removed when this post (to use a similar example) wasn't. Not providing a reason is, at the very least, self-defeating, because you then have to deal with the not-unreasonable follow-up question as to why.
From what I remember, I think this place ultimately exists because of the mod at the other place being a bit opaque.
And not just opaque, but also defensive and happily using moderation as a weapon in that. It's just a shitty approach to moderation IMO, especially for lemmy and it's vibe and size. It really has no place here, and I suspect mods like that have learnt to be like that from Reddit when this is a totally different place.
IIRC, Blaze (mod here) got banned under similar circumstances.

Hello,
That's indeed why I opened this community in the first place. For people interested, you can have a look at this post for the details (open the spoiler): https://lemmy.world/post/11446250
Ok, but nothing about this movie will ever be interesting, the simple fact that they've chosen Jared Letho as the main character, for him to even have any part of it has ruined any positive view I have of anyone else involved. It doesn't matter if he's perfect for the role, it's never acceptable to ignore all the bad shit someone has done.
Did he hurt someone? Or do you mean the 'bad shit' is starring as a mediocre Joker and then Morbius? I briefly browsed through his biography on wikipedia and it seems I missed something important if you are so against him. For me, it seems like he is framed to be a main star for B-rated movies these companies didn't care about anyway. I don't think he deserves any sort of a strong opinion or remembering his name if you aren't a 30s2M fan.
You should look up his cult! I'm being serious, the guy has a cult. Here are the first two articles I found about it. Add that to the fact that he's the worst part of basically every movie he's in and he did shit like mail used condoms to his costars on Suicide Squad in the name of "method acting" and I feel like the general disgust with him being the main character in any movie, particularly one someone would otherwise be interested in is warranted.
Not quite the same but having listened to the 1712 Overture several times before hearing the 1812, I didn't get some of the jokes until I actually heard the 1812, and THAT's when I laughed.
But on-topic me and the wife have been watching an animation film where the cinema was mostly kids and we got, and laughed out loud at, some of the "jokes for the grown-ups" that none of the kids did, who were all staring at us for laughing at something that was totally not funny for them.
I saw revenge of the sith in the theater multiple times and there was no laughing at the no. I never noticed it being laughed at until the “do not want” translation gaffe.
I saw I am legend I cinemas with my brother I would have been 16 him 11.
When Will Smith killed his dog my brother started balling his eyes out and I started laughing at him uncontrollably. I'm sure from an outside perspective I looked like a psycho
I know it's the meme that everybody hates episode 1, but I've lived my whole life loving this movie. It was the first Star Wars film I saw in theaters, and the hype from Darth Maul igniting that second blade has lived with me forever.
Podracing, the birth of the Seperatist movement, our first time seeing Coruscant on screen, the introduction of the Jedi Council...
There are so many incredible moments in this film that people have taken for granted because they focus almost entirely on the handful of throwaway comedy lines from JarJar.
It's not perfect, but the biggest reason I refuse to watch the Les Mis movie again is because Russel Crowe cannot sing for shit; having him play Javert, a leading and powerful singing role, ruined what was otherwise a decent movie adaptation of a stage musical. It even had some really amazing casting choices, but that one absolutely ruined it for me.
