Graham Broad

Eddie McKay, a Western student & Londoner who flew in the First World War, and who was one of the first Canadians who learned to fly. A member of the Royal Flying Corps, McKay earned 10 victories before being shot down and dying in 1917.

Her nephews attended Fort Meigs in kit years ago and posed for a photo with me.

They were with me at the infamous "last stand" at Mississinewa last fall! (Front rank)

On this day in 1941 the first German POWs arrived at Neys Camp W (later renamed to Camp 100).

This area is now a provincial park where my family often camped when I was growing up.

It is a spectacular beachy area and I recall exploring in the dunes and finding barb wire.

This area was also frequented by the Group of Seven as they painted Lake Superior.

Pic Island is nearby as is the town of Coldwell.
