Watching this TV show, I have another half-hour before bedtime, I am admiring this actress who is playing an extremely unlikable person.

I grew up in the theatre, 4-8 productions a year from age 6 to age 19.

When I was 18, I had a role in the play A Thousand Clowns.

And that role was as "Chuckles the Chipmunk", a children's TV star, the boss of the protagonist.

He's a complete asshole. And in a script full of change, he's the only unchanging constant, asshole from start to finish.

"A weekend roaming narrow old lanes, touring the faded glories of a country manor, and quaffing pints in the pub. How charming. That is, unless you have the misfortune of finding yourself in an English Murder Village, where danger lurks around each picturesque cobblestone corner and every sip of tea may be your last."

OK, so Sam Kerr, superstar footballer and Aboriginal Australian badass lesbian heroine, was charged in the UK with “racially aggravated harassment of a police officer”, which had everyone scratching their heads concerned for a few days

Then it came out that all she did (for better or worse) was call a cop a “stupid white bastard”, which is of course a completely regular and good thing to call a cop, and now she is even more beloved in Australia and beyond

    Albert Einstein’s first wife Mileva (Mitza) Marić was also a brilliant physicist. They met at the Polytechnic Institute of Zurich, where she had fought for special permissions to attend and where she received higher marks than Albert. Mitza put in as much if not more work on their theories but wasn’t credited because Albert told her their works wouldn’t get published with a woman’s name on them. Many of his lecture notes are in Mitza’s handwriting, and Albert was once heard at a party saying, “I need my wife, she helps solve all of my mathematical problems.” 80% of Einstein’s famous works were published during this marriage, referred to as his “magic years.” Those magic years ended abruptly after they divorced due to his infidelity and abandonment.

    Hiked into/out of a volcanic crater today. It was raining (not unexpected in a rainforest), but it made it feel like Jurassic Park and I got some neat pictures :blobcatpuffyblush:

    What bothers me eighthly about the cybertruck: now it’s spreading. That Kawasaki Ridge wouldn’t have happened if the ghost of the Pontiac Aztek had not been summoned from its well earned slumber. Rude.

    What bothers me seventhly about the cybertruck: it’s just an even worse Pontiac Aztek. The Aztek was a car-adjacent-vehicle for people who wanted to camp in the back of a car that was not a truck and didn’t want to buy a camper or, you know, a tent.
