https://snikket.org/ (xmpp based) is perfect for that. Matrix will work, but you will likely reach the limits of your Raspi with it fairly soon if you allow federation with other servers.

And you point is? Should they not ban people for spreading blatant lies?

@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

The first two are sweeping generalizations that are like that simply not true and only serve to attack the work of the moderators. If you want to critizise something you need concrete examples.

The last one... the historical accuracy is debatable, but was it even posted on a thread that discussed pre-ww2 history? Usually such cut&paste comments are made to derail justified complaints regarding ML propaganda about recent events.

Did you accidentally post this in the wrong community? There is /c/clothing@slrpnk.net for example.

Cool, but you basically reinvented btrfs snapshots.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Uhm, I think you need to do better research as most of the above isn't true.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Points 1,2,6,7 are wrong, and the others are partially wrong and/or can be easily solved with other existing tools.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Did you forget adding a link?

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

That is quite interesting. What are you using it for? You mention some remote islands?

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

And in addition they run big adverts on caring about privacy, while in reality they do the same shit as all the other tech companies, but just use their monopoly power to push out surveillance advertisement competitors.

poVoq , (edited )
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Especially from a privacy record, they actually have a far superior history than essentially every other hardware manufacturer out there.

That's what their marketing department wants you to believe. But basically all independent investigations into that have concluded that Apple is no better, just that they collect all the data themselves rather than allowing you to have it collected by Facebook etc.

If you look into their privacy policy etc. its very obvious that they exclude all their own surveillance advertisement and privacy invasive stuff from the limits imposed on others. If they truly cared about privacy they would not make these exceptions for themselves.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Apple runs their own advertisement network these days. Its pointless to argue that they sell less data when they themselves still collect all of it for their own advertisement purposes.

Not very brave since these are not dangerous to humans, but still interesting video. Makes you wonder if the whale really understood that it might get help.

Mobian/Droidian is also worth looking into and of course Ubuntu Touch.

This community isn't about Android ROMs though.

There are some relatively nice custom themes.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

They are in the USA, just not of the specific MAGA lunacy.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

That's an interesting point. Where are you quoting this from?

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

I’m not sure I like the idea of relays instead of instances.

Relay operators hold almost the same power as AP instance operators, but are much less visible to public scrutiny and accountability for their actions.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

No, I am European and I am painfully aware of the right-wing ursupation of the originally anarchist term "libertarian" in the USA.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Yes, but open-specifications doesn't mean open-hardware.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

The point is rather that RISC-V is only open-specifications and most available chip designs are not open-source or only partially so in the open-hardware sense.

No one would claim that the Ethernet specifications are open-hardware, yet you see the same (false) claim for RISC-V all the time.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

You should get in contact with the people behind: https://loops.video/

The main dev is the one that also does Pixelfed and he needs developer help and also asked for it specifically for Loops.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

To be honest, in my experience there is a bit of a deniyal that some people seems to be (genetically?) especially vulnerable to addictions and people just extrapolate from their own healthy or at least not problematic substance-use onto others. So often people just think drugs are not really a problem.

poVoq Mod ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Who are those 50.000 that went from green party to afd? What kind of reason could there possibly be for that?

Misguided pacifists that believe that the AfD would negotiate a peace deal with Putin in Ukraine. I personally know some like that... who just barely stopped short of admitting they considered voting for the AfD because of that.

poVoq Mod ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Sure, mostly. But in east Germany there are some with a deep aversion against voting for "communists", which is why they voted Green and not LINKE before.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Assuming the most benign interpretation: sorry but you are confusing justified self-defense with what actual fascist do. I guess you are familiar with the paradox of tolerance, but I recommend you thinking about that one again in the context of Antifa.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

People that solely focus on these "issues" are called "Nazis" because by all objective measures these are rare and inconsequential events that got way over-blown in the media and serve no other purpose than to distract from the real issues in Europe. If you can't or don't want to understand that you are either extremely stupid or are indeed a Nazi that is pushing an agenda. These "issues" are not being "ignored" and left "festering" because the real and only issue there are the people that think that these are "issues" aka Nazis.

poVoq OP Mod ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Yeah, true. But relative to other EU countries it's good news that significantly less people voted for them.

I guess it also shows that people do make a bit more of a distinction between national and EU elections.

poVoq ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Excellent! Some good news at least.

poVoq Mod ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

The only valid answer is Portugal 😅

Hmm, I find some of the questions and assumptions a bit odd. Like are there really a significant number of transhumanist anarchists? At most I have seen some "anarcho-capitalist" leaning transhumanists that like the former have very little in common with actual anarchists.

Edit: ah, I remember reading some anarcho-transhumanist zine a while ago, which was not so bad (mostly about space exploration), but it seemed like total fringe and not in any way popular amongst anarchists at all.

There is some bug with the post forms, yes. It is especially noticable on cross posts. But at least here it doesn't prevent using the function entirely.

poVoq OP Mod ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Hmm, I would need to check but with Firefox and derivatives it does work with only minor issues with the main lemmy-ui.

Can you try changing the theme in your settings to rule out any problems with our custom theme? It's just some CSS though, so I doubt that can cause problems like that.

poVoq OP Mod ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

All the Hanubeki themes are custom, try one of the standard Lemmy ones.

Otherwise I sadly can't replicate what you are seeing.

poVoq OP Mod ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Both in Firefox and in Chromium seems to be working here.

poVoq OP Mod ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Seems to work here as intended. Maybe some browser plugin issue?

poVoq OP Mod ,
@poVoq@slrpnk.net avatar

Very likely a language setting issue. Make sure you have at least "undefined" and "English" selected from the list.
