More evidence of why I should stop thinking Tony Khan is sincere when he says "BIG announcement"...

It worked for awhile because it seemed like each announcement used to actually be "big" and interesting.

Nowadays, it's like a bedtime story..."The event in Boston will be AEW: Big Picture"

From a survey of @penn_state : "72% …reported they had not purchased a course’s required textbook, and 33% said they had not registered for a specific course because of its cost of required course materials. In addition, 33% said they had earned a poor grade because they couldn’t afford to purchase a course textbook, and 17% dropped a course because of the cost of materials required for the course."

Back in 2009, my profs taught students "illegally" (as the uni prohibited this) how to get the textbooks for cheap (semi-legal, but overseas editions)

$80 texts cost $15 if you ordered from India.

This was the Economics department, so some students figured it out, told the profs, and then the profs got in trouble for telling other students.
