The proposed regulation from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration would for the first time require employers to monitor workers and provide rest areas and water when the heat index reaches 80 degrees or higher. Employers would also be required to establish heat safety plans. The rule could apply to about 35 million Americans who work both indoors and outdoors, senior administration officials said in a call with reporters on Monday.

Looks like it’ll be handled as OSHA regulations so that should actually get implemented, great to see since it’s only going to get hotter.

Don’t worry, SCOTUS will overturn OSHA soon enough.

TrippyFocus ,

Yeah can’t say that’s not a possibility, the court 100% needs to be stacked at this point.

This made me laugh way harder than it should have, but then I realized I was actually crying.

ChonkyOwlbear ,

They already did more or less. Friday they blew up the Chevron decision which means the court can override rules by regulatory agencies whenever they want.

notfromhere ,

Yep that’s what I was talking about. Technically OSHA still has authority until the asshats bring that through the courts and it gets gutted.
