What I am missing is something where I can sync what podcast I am playing and the minute and second where in the podcast I am.

This way I could switch seamlessly between devices.

Does it have functionality like that?

Wir überlegen nach Europa zu ziehen, und die Sprache ist definitiv die größte Hürde. Meine Verlobte spricht schon 4 sprachen aber kein Deutsch. Sie hat hier in Korea einen C-level job, das kann sie ohne Deutsch sowieso vergessen aber auch jeder andere Job verlangt gute Deutschkenntnisse.

Dann kommt noch hinzu dass die große schon 10 ist. Ich bin mit 11 nach Deutschland gezogen und wegen der Sprache konnte ich dann nicht ins Gymnasium und auch nicht zur Realschule, also blieb mir nur der Umweg über den zweiten Bildungsweg und dann im Ausland an die Uni, da ich mit dem Fachabi nur an ner Hochschule studieren konnte.

Ich denke für uns ist ein Land wie Schweden, Dänemark oder Finnland besser. Dort spricht jeder Englisch, auf der Arbeit und auch im Amt.

I feel Lemmy is very heavy despite being written in rust. Most ot the time it is the service using most RAM and CPU on my server where I run many other services written in ruby, PHP, python, go, etc.

Is PieFeed more lightweight? Does someone have any insight?

I like Uptime Kuma, but it only monitors if a service is online or not. I'm up to 21 services now so I'm not interested in all their details, just if I need to fix something urgently.

I haven't done it yet but I plan on doing it. But I never bothered with a VPN and just expose a ssh port. So I plan just to mount a directory with sshfs.

Mine is pretty easy, I import the pics with a shell script from the sdcard into a date based file structure: ~/Pictures/YYYY/MM/DD/

Then I use Dark table to look through the imported pictures and give them 1-5 stars and mark which ones to delete. Then I delete the ones to delete. And then I go through the ones I want to use for something and edit them. After that I export them as jpeg and publish.

As backup I use synology drive and back up ~/Photos offsite and use DejaDup to backup ~/ to a USB hard drive.

I am using duckdns.org and let my router ping it when it's public IP changes. Then I use nginx as a reverse proxy with help of https://nginxproxymanager.com/ so I don't need to write config files and it also runs certbot for my so I don't need to deal with https manually.

Actually I also have my own domain so I use a subdomain pointing via CNAME to the duckdns subdomain. This way I can easily change the provider of dyndns.

Me and the boys went to Japan once and were ordering gin tonics. They gradually became stronger and stronger until they told us that they run out of tonic water.

By then we were already drunk and very loud. Must have been quite bad being on that plane and wanting to catch up on some sleep.

Didn't really hurt but more like sting. I published a popular video and someone wrote they needed to switch from their usual 2x speed watching videos to 1x because of my accent.

I get it, English is my 4th language so it won't be very smooth. But I've been using it for 99℅ of my conversations since I moved to Korea 3 years ago and I feel I'm better in it than almost everyone I interact with here.

Polish, German and Swedish. Now I'm learning Korean, not because I want to but because I moved to Korea and without it it's difficult to do anything.

That's also why I had to learn the other languages other than English, because I moved to those countries.

I think in the long run that's good, concentrating only in big cities is really bad for a country, just look at South Korea, everybody has to live in Seoul, there is practically no other way. But yeah it sucks in the beginning because you loose a lot first.

I change the language with long press on the space bar.

I installed the whole thing with help of Fdroid which probably resolves all the dependencies for you.
