Gov. Gavin Newsom in Michigan on his meeting with Pres :

"I left last night from the White House … had the opportunity to talk to the President for an hour, hour and a half — could have gone two-three hours. And I mean this with absolute conviction: That was the Joe Biden I remember from two weeks ago. That was the Joe Biden that I remember from two years ago. That's the Joe Biden that I'm looking forward to re-electing President of the United States."

Don’t forget the critters on these scorching days. I fill the water bowl 2x a day and I see finches, cardinals, blue jays, titmice, opossums and of course squirrels drinking from it.
These pics are from this morning.

My day started with a walk in the park. There was an elderly lady walking her little dog, and she decided to play with me. The lady was trying to go home, but the little one wanted to stay with me. Since we knew each other by sight, we agreed that the dog would stay with me all morning while she ran errands. In the late morning, she returned, and the dog happily went back home with her. I had the honor of spending a few hours of pure joy and carefreeness, rediscovering the pleasures of simple things.
Sometimes, in life, we should just take a few hours to stop and see the world through the eyes of a dog.

Very true, love puppers! But right now I’m going to see the world through my cat’s eyes and take a nap.😻

I hear my phone buzzing. The Mastodon awakens.
#GoodMorning #Bonjour #Caturday

3 family members are awake, 2 have since settled down. I could have used more sleep, I stayed up to watch Colbert at 1am and it was a repeat.

Another 4 pear trees popped up from seed. I'm going to need to find space for these soon. And I don't want to have to provide special lighting.

I've got tree seeds everywhere, will be a month of growth before I remember what each one is.

"Yawn, is it morning already?"

Allergy season

jeanettepizzurro ,

@Rasta
I just saw this. Haven’t been on much today. It rained quite a lot and that settled the pollen down. ❤️

My wife fell yesterday during our walk. Not hurt seriously, a twist & a bruise; I saw her slip & was able to break her fall .

You never think of #Walking, as a dangerous #sport , but here's the dangers I've found:

At crosswalks, the 3rd car back (texting), will strike the 2 cars in front & push them into you. it will be your fault if you get hit.

Mornings above freezing temps, sidewalk refreeze, making footing unsure.

The slimy silt mud after the rain, that's what took my wife down.

A young black man walks down the center of one lane on the road, with an open short sleeve shirt flapping over his T shirt as he walks.

@jeanettepizzurro@mstdn.party avatar

@Rasta
It’s sounds like it could have been a lot worse if you hadn’t been there to catch her. 🤗
I’m allergic to the outdoors right now, but I’m very cautious when hiking, the ground is so uneven.

jeanettepizzurro ,
@jeanettepizzurro@mstdn.party avatar

@Rasta
I’m happy you missed me.🤗 I never had such miserable allergy attacks in Feb, wasn’t prepared. I had cathouse windows opened, can’t do that. Pollen count is super high. Just today meds and nasal spray are helping. I’ll try to do better. 😁

jeanettepizzurro ,
@jeanettepizzurro@mstdn.party avatar

@Rasta
It usually isn’t bad until April or May. But those 80F 26C days prompted the trees to bud/bloom way too early.
I’m curious what our spring temperatures will bring. It’s cooled off to more normal temperatures right now and if it rains like predicted the pollen count will lower.

jeanettepizzurro ,
@jeanettepizzurro@mstdn.party avatar

@Rasta
I remember all the work you put into the trees and nothing was produced.
If our temps don’t drop to low it should be ok for ones that are budding.
What about your trip this spring?
