Today I identified a limitation with Mastodon.

A person wishes not to see any politics in their feed, and kindly asked me to put content warnings on politics.

I replied that this would be counterproductive to my very reason for being on Mastodon, so they blocked me.

I respect their decision, but would it not be better if the person could choose not to see boosts of my posts without blocking me and ending all dialogue?

Update: This IS possible via the web interface. Awesome!

@randahl @BeAware i had a self hosting user report one of my accounts since he did not like what i was posting and that it was partially done via a scheduling service

i was able to get my account back, but this entitled attitude of some users on Mastodon is problematic

@academicchatter why is it that neurotypical people think they can talk to us in as hostile a fashion as they want, but the second we respond in kind, we're out of line?

i just had a co-worker email me using language/tone that if i had done the same to them, i’d be getting told i was being unprofessional.

@wakame i have always been more blunt than the average person here in the Pacific Northwest (former NYer) but my current job take the standard PWN passive aggressiveness to new heights

more than once i’ve been called to task for how i respond to things and this was before i was diagnosed

going to be curious if they keep doing this once i self disclose

Got called a fascist by a Biden supporter for..... saying I support Biden?

Lesson of the day: Sometimes you just need to take a deep breath, put your phone down, and remind yourself that you simply cannot win on social media.

Me: That is exactly the problem I am trying to point out here though. It has become impossible to make the smallest criticism about one party without people instantly accusing you of supporting the opposing party. I support Biden, I am going to vote with Biden, and I think it is very problematic when people become afraid to criticize parts of a thing that they generally support. Someone replying to my above comment: Okay fascist, get the fuck off my timeline
