I recognize a lot of people, both good and bad. When someone stands out I set a note for them in Lemmy, so I can see them more easily. So far in this thread I see otter@lemmy.ca, BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world, and MargotRobbie@lemmy.world - all fun and awesome from my experience.

It's not your boss, it's "executive leadership", the board of directors, and the shareholders.

Had to unsub and strike him from my feed when he started cheering for the "freedom convoy" donkeys a while back. Revealed himself to be a hopelessly stupid and ignorant bumblefuck in my book. Fuck him.

Thanks for the links, I just went through his ArtStation. So many genuinely cool characters and his style is so dialed in. That Bee Knight one is sweet.

It's a member of the 24th-century paramilitary organization-terrorist group of the same name of course! Notable members will include Laren, Torres, Chakotay, and even one of the Riker twins.

I read Tad Williams Otherland series in the 90s and I still think back to its depiction of cyberspace regularly. Probably time for a reread as an adult to see if it holds up.

The pronunciation of 'turbine' and 'juvenile' in this video drove me crazy. There's no good reason to ignore the 'e' in those words. Stop.

My city's giant landfills have clay liners that redirect the leachate to a treatment plant specifically for the purpose. The leachate literally flows into the plant constantly, it's a huge amount.

I only know this because I worked there in my early 20s. It had the most horrifying smell like a fully fermented Diaper Genie poop-snake with strong sweet and sour notes that seemed to have flavour.

I got used to the smell at the regular waste water treatment plant, and at the dump in general, but the leachate plant was unbearable.

Your title connected a dot for me... I'm a dummy, I've been pronouncing it "seer X" and "seer X-N-G" in my head all this time when it must be "search" and "searching"... 😔

Marine in Vietnam holding M14 with 30 round magazine. ( lemmy.world )

Full description: I saw an AK-47 while in Vietnam and it had a 30 round magazine. So I cut the top and bottom off of a couple of M-14 Magazines and welded them together and made a “40” Round magazine for my M-14. It really didn’t work very well when test firing it, several of the last rounds would not chamber with only two...
