Crazy story - my dad went to the hospital with chest pain he’d been having for several days. The ER docs ran blood work and ekg and concluded it wasn’t a heart attack. He started complaining that the pain was getting a lot worse, moving into his jaw. The docs gave him some morphine and he said it wasn’t doing anything for the pain. So they hook him back up to the ekg. While they are watching the ekg, he has a heart attack, which they then confirmed with bloodwork.

So yeah. Hope your day is going better than that.

two barn swallows sitting across from each other on thin little branches. one in the foreground and one in the back. the one in the foreground has their iridescent blue back to the camera and one glossy blue wing extended to the left as if it has just thrown something. opposite them and facing the camera the other barn swallow has their mouth wide open as if they are trying to catch a bit of food that the other swallow has thrown to them. their mouth and front are light orange and they have a little forked tail extending down off the branch. in reality the swallow in the foreground is preening their shoulder feather and well i don't know what the one in the back is doing. they just open their mouths really wide sometimes, maybe yawning? i don't know haha

    In my earlier days of birding, I had very little idea what I was doing. I met a few people, including a veteran birder named Rod who had seen every LA county rarity for decades. I helped him with bluebird box monitoring and was able to learn a lot about where and how to find birds, including several groups of cactus wrens in a local park. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to help someone in the same way.

    Edit: physical stickers are sold out, digital stickers and wallpapers are still available.

    The nuthatch stickers are finally here! They are 3.91” x 2.31” glossy UV protected waterproof vinyl stickers and you can get them over on my ko-fi shop! I also put up a digital version of the sticker as a transparent PNG for use as an emoji or messaging sticker or desktop icon or whatever else you can think of! And if that all isn’t enough I have also listed the full image as a 16x9 phone wallpaper for download as well!

    Please let me know if you plan to buy more than say 4 stickers as that may change the shipping a bit especially if you are not in the US.

    I am very happy with how these turned out so please let me know if there are any other pictures of mine that you’d like to see as stickers!
