Do you think bleeping swear words on tv is good or bad?

@randahl I think it’s a good idea, with the caveat that it’s in a time slot when children will likely be watching. After 8pm is probably fine to not have the bleeps.

    This is awesome: 🙌🏻

The Baltic countries are raising the middle finger to Putin and switching their railway from the old Russian width to European width, and building an enormous railway all the way from Helsinki in Finland to Warsaw in Poland, where it connects to the existing European railway system.

249 kph means 3½ hour rides between European capitals — using clean electrical energy thereby helping our climate too.

B1M has a video about the Rail Baltica:

Study I'd like to see that won't ever get done:

Do adults who participate in "structured make - believe" things like roleplaying games, collaborative stories etc. believe in conspiracy theories more or less.

The thing I want to be true is that there is some innate need for imaginary play, and conspiracy theories are a maladaptive way to fill that need. But that's my bias speaking, it could really go either way.

@futurebird I ran the idea by my D&D discord and everyone thinks the two kinds of imagination are very different.

TIL that the works of J.R.R. Tolkien passed into the public domain in NZ and Canada this year (life plus 50 years)… but also won’t for another 20 years in much of Europe, and 40 years in the USA…

& peeps: What on Earth does it mean if someone writes a derivative work here in NZ and then tries to republish it overseas? Or if it is published here and then imported to a different country via the internet or otherwise?

Please retoot so this post finds a person who can answer it!
