Color photograph of one of the exterior facades of the University of Iowa School of Music (Voxman Building). The facade's surface is paneled and made up of vertical and diagonal elements. The vertical lines of each panels are made up of slender grey, brown-grey, brown, and black panels that change colors each time they cross a diagonal element. Each panel is framed by three-dimensional, vertical support columns as well as the three-dimensional diagonal elements. Both the vertical and diagonal framing are the dark grey color. The photo was take at an oblique angle. In reality, the diagonal elements are actually horizontal.

    So far what I’ve learnt about macro photography is it requires a lot of patience and doing the same thing over and over. But I’m used to it—I’m a bass player.

    I did the staring at the water thing several times but not as long as you did. But now I know how tiny they could be so maybe I'll have better luck next time. The big issue I run into is that if I approach the area they are singing in they give me the silent treatment and so I have no idea where they may be, lol.

    I'm not good at waiting either. Pretty much always chasing what might be ahead. But there is one location I visit where I always hear them so I'm gonna follow your advice and wait for them to start singing again after I approach👍 .

    When I was a kid, lots of robins, daffodils, and dandelions meant spring was here and winter was finally over. Since official spring is only a few weeks away for us in Iowa, I thought I'd share some robin photos from the past few years. Check the hashtag above to see more robin photos as I add them.
