#SCOTUS making #news today for the #work it did not do.

Every day that goes by on Trump’s absolute immunity claim w/o a decision, is a victory for #Trump. His strategy is to #delay. That way he can dismiss all federal charges against him if he wins.

Something’s Rotten About the Justices Taking So Long on Trump’s Immunity Case

50 billionaire families have already poured $600M+ into this year's elections — mostly in support of Trump.

That's only 0.6% of their total wealth. It essentially costs them nothing to drown our democracy in dark money.

Jonathanglick ,
@Jonathanglick@mstdn.social avatar

@rbreich Given how inexpensive political ‘investments’ are, and how lavishly they pay off, it has become irrational for the super-wealthy not to manipulate the electoral process.

"Texas delegates voted on a 2024 platform at the state’s GOP Convention on Saturday and aim to tally the votes by Wednesday to finalize their platform for the coming year. The proposal called for new legislation to solidify fetal personhood ideology into law, define abortion care as homicide and criminalize in vitro fertilization, first reported by feminist writer Jessica Valenti.”

🤦🏻‍♀️😳#Trump & #Musk have discussed a possible advisory role for the Tesla leader should TFG reclaim WH, the latest sign that the once-frosty relationship between the 2 has thawed.

The role hasn’t been fully hammered out and might not happen, but they discussed ways to give Musk formal input & influence over policies related to border security and the economy, both issues on which Musk has grown more vocal.

Congressional Democrats -- particularly senators -- are pathetic.

That's the only word for their beyond-weak non-response to the news that Alito -- the enormously powerful Supreme Court justice -- was a backer of the Jan. 6 insurrection. (His obvious lie, blaming his wife, is also the definition of pathetic, but in a different way.)

The Democrats, in their typical weak-kneed manner, are going to let it all go.

They make me sick.
