Dumb people will double down in an attempt to present they were always right, even after they admit they were sort of wrong. If they can reverse that previous loss into a win, they were always right.

My birth certificate has my old name crossed out and replaced because my mum hated the way my dad pronounced it with his accent. The change is legally acceptable

Next steps after the bear

As has been discussed already here in this community, the key takeaway from the bear hypothetical is that it is an opportunity to truly listen to the lived experiences of women under patriarchal systems. I encourage "first response" to the bear discussion to head back to this post, as I am looking for discussion kind of after...

It's pretty difficult to come up with an analogy that could bring an understanding without sounding insane. If the thought process is feeling de-humanised then examples would correlate best with physical attraction but that makes you sound insane because it kind of is.

I think it depends on the context. Calling me a full stack is an acknowledgement that I can work on every step of the system and usually every part of the system. I don't consider it to mean equally good.

However if it keeps getting brought up when I am not supposed to be working on those other steps, that signals to me that maybe they are trying to push more work into me that I shouldn't be do.

I can appreciate that when someone says "Our X Expert". It definitely feels like more praise and more value.

Can you live without YouTube ?

Today in a Privacy community a post about YouTube. No word about privacy but all about which software or settings are needed to watch videos and the money needed to host videos. It made me wonder whether some of you can lead a meaningful life without YouTube. Or will a cold turkey bring the worst out of you ?

Probably one of the harder things that I could do. It's a replacement for TV so I could try and slot in TV but I think it would be frustrating to not have the copious amounts of content

It's like primitive AI sense but the details aren't there and if the details are there, I'm not getting the full picture. It can instantly swap between the two be they never seem to overlap

I came to post always eating breakfast. I prepare overnight oats and eat it when I wake up and its helped a lot with concentration. There's definitely something to be said about a lot of marketed greasy or sugary breakfasts

I'm not American, surely this is a joke or I'm missing something?

I meant the $100 for that. They going to wholefoods or something?

Gameboy SP plays GB, GBC and GBA games with a backlight in the screen. If that's not enough, there are plenty of videos online on how to upgrade the SP. Authentic but optimized. Best of both worlds!

Transsexuality isn't static, it's a spectrum. You might as well state that non-op isn't valid either. The op isn't correct but neither are you.

A day with no plans where I'm not thinking about the end of my days off. You don't get it with a week off. Every day you have a thought about how many days left but two week on Wednesday. You've done what you want the weekend is still far away and you know the next week I'd more time. Bliss, no need to worry about utilising your time off. Just pure impulse.

It's true. I once played spin the bottle with one other person and didn't realize what the plan was after playing it. Thought it was just an awkward interaction until she asked brought it up a couple years later.

Later on in life, a girl invited me to a sleepover and we were joking and having fun shared a bed and went to sleep. I woke up to her crying because she took it as me finding her ugly and not being into her.

Needless to say neither went anywhere because I guess my smooth brain was not an attractive trait.

That's not a strategy like the journal implies, that a decision you make when the time comes.

Mens clothing don't always fit men either that's why we have belts

Cursive f is actually way to high the whole point of cursive is to learn to write fast and cursive f is slower. I'm sure a large amount of people aren't even aware it's an f ( the middle right two)

Some things:

(a) Retro gaming is an extremely wide at this point. It houses multiple generations if extreme upgrades from PS2 to Spectrum. The further back you go the more restricted it becomes. So if you want to get into retro, I think it might be good to move backwards to gain a tolerance. As you go back QoL will slowly get worse as we've built upon them over the years.

(b) Gateway games are difficult because for me a gateway is a way to gain interest, it was never just picking the best of the old games. When Megaman 9 came out it was good enough that I went back and started playing the old games. Because I enjoyed it and it emulated the originals. If there are some retro-inspired games you enjoy, going back to the games that inspired it is a good gateway (for me anyway)

(c) I'm not sure how this feed feels about it but feel free to use save states. Arcade difficulty is real and sometimes saving can be complicated. Just remember that they exist when considering an opinion. Your feelings on contra may vary depending on if you use save states to beat it.

So if N64 is your "modern" retro I'd probably recommend Mario 64, Ocarina of Time (slow start be aware), Kirby 64 and Paper Mario. From there if you like Mario 64 and Want another Banjo.

I think SNES JRPG is a bit tricky. I don't really remember my avenue into it. I believe it was GBA and DS JRPG that gave me a tolerance for more simple combat systems.

But that also doesn't matter because the granularity is meaningless if you don't make decisions for differences between 71F and 70F

How can i appreciate the master camera work at that resolution? Shame on you for not providing the 4k image so I can study the framing

I've got a game in a pile of about 100 sandwiched in between some penny priced games that is worth $500. I'm not creating a shrine for it. Just putting in with the rest of the group.

Im discussing this from the perspective of office which I imagine is very different from some other jobs. I consider this saying of thinking as one of neutrality rather then attempting to actively get somewhere.

    1. If there's a specific job your looking for, that would be correct. Otherwise just interacting with people in LinkedIn works. I check maybe once a month to tell people how interested I am and to direct them to my email where I'm more active.
    2. Not really. The benefit of having a job and looking is having way more freedom to decline interviews. So you don't put in effort until you want to and it makes more sense. It feels like you are treated better as well. You are given every convenience when you have to fit things around work. Since getting a job, I have had every time limit for sending in work revoked to get it in around work.
    3. Never tell your coworkers. It's not worth it. I've never heard anyone ever discuss taking interviews other than from past jobs. Closest I've got is "you'll be the first to know if I take a new job". You can take time off for interviews if needed. Or schedule them around lunch. As I said above. They give every luxury to work around a work schedule.
    4. You don't have to tell anyone. If people ask it can be extremely simple. Dentist, helping someone with a move. Mental health day. Just normal stuff. Realistically, people should not ask.

I see the same comments on guy's feet as well in the wrong places.

Most Brits would know that as a Texan accent honestly but it's a matter of semantics. I'm sure Americans realize "spot of tea?" and "chewsday" aren't the same accent even if they sometimes use them a breaths away when depicting "the British" accent. If I was to depict "the American" accent I would say "Tomato"
