According to national polls the PVV would have now ca. 48 out a total of 150 seats in the Dutch House of Representatives, so a 32%.

In this exit polls it won 7 out of a total of 31 European Parliament seats , so a 22,5%.

On the other hand PVV went from 1 to 7 seats in the EP. A huge far-right surge was/ is expected for the EP election. But in the Netherlands, it didn't turn out as high as was predicted.

Ofc Ukraine may defend itself! Anyway, here their quote:

Their basis for holding back was Ukraine might use them to strike targets in Russia, and that cannot be allowed..

That was one argument, the other one was that a (German) ground force maintainance crew & training & encoding experts and stuff would be needed.
Regarding sending maintainance crews, the opinions seem more and more positive of late. I'll reckon we'll might see Taurus , and hopefully more of it's friends, being send. Then again, it will also depend on the outcome of the ( EU) elections this year.

Yes, I forgot Germany has a "diehard" constitution. Tnx for explaining this aspect. That would make it a third argument, or need of an " extra A-okay" mandate.

I also remembered, that big eavesdrop hack scandal while the Taurus issue was internally being discussed with the military brass and ministers. Having that scandal and the discussion " in the open" hasn't helped either.

Probably, but that's the problem right?
Even if you could, it's about sustainability. But also that's there isnt very much . And, it's a complete inventory chaos, because of different specs. And ofc, there's always political reasons and what nots.
Generally, that's what's being said anyway.

This atack , but also some other events like in Paris, Zwitserland, Belgium, made me more aware of the risen terrorist theat levels, issued by a.o. Europol. Some years after 9/11 USA, I just got desensitised to it, or maybe I already was.

Anyhow, fyi terrorism in numbers was the most recent and comprehensive info I found. The numbers now are probably much higher.

The results showed that between 2004 and 2022, a total of 208 terrorist attacks occurred in the EU, with the majority of these attacks (118) occurring in just three countries: France, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

Well, both statements would be an or your opinion. But, as the court specifically investigated, these are the only facts we have atm, quote:

Generally, I'd consider extreme right atacks equally terroristic. So, you mention thousands of atacks by right winged extremist, I know they've been raising. Happen to have some info on that, for comparison?

I don't see the need to downplay any kind of terroristic atack, by whatever political motivation they might have, whether , right/ left/anarchist or whatever. It's the killing of innocents that has me worried.

100%. Its a classic divide & conquer strategy, albeit that the technology has changed over the centuries, and the methodology (hybrid) has become more finetuned.
I mean, objectivelly and strategically it's how the world has been working forever: " in war and love there are no rules", it is said.

On the otherhand, how the world has been working forever, is exactly the whole issue. Speaking for European (or worldcitizens) we really hate wars and catastrophic results, so we'd like to move away from the old world, towards a more balanced world with more equal partnership; ideally.

It's impossible to move to that point, when your supposed partners apperantly don't have the same wish ( Ruzz Mir for example, isn't peace).
At the end of the day I perceive this as a clash between systems, democracies & authoracies.And, even this comparance may be too simplified.
I hope and trust, we can find a proportionate and adequate response to these negative developments and actions.

Also it should be a joint responsibility between all the citizens from the whole world ( if your country is fucking up, try to do something if possible, stay safe ofc). Instead, as it appears now, we have just some head of states deciding everything for billions.

Kinda of like a modernised slogan from yesteryear," citizens over the World Unite; against idiotic head of states! " thing.

If I'm reading this in its context correctly, it seems that this meeting is about Europe (hopefully now) really starting to wake up.

I imagine the meeting will focus on the arguments of The Danish PM, to take a more proactive stance and response in Europe ( added: for more immediate needs of Ukraine's defense situation.

I understand your sentiment, and not that I expecially care for Scholz, but he deserves better: he can't do it without the support the German Parliament. He might have been able to overcome that, if he'd had more public approval. In these turbulent disinformation/influence times, this is often the determinator..

Yeah it sounds pretty bad. Apart from the terrible working condition and human abuse, I worry for their lack of concern for the fishing population as they have no regards for endangered species and future world population of fish and seamamals, as they currently form the biggest fleets in the world.

I just saw Godzilla minus one, link metacritic and I was left with awe about the script and the music.
It's situated in post WW2 Japan, and since we have national Memorial Day for the fallen this week in my country, it felt appropriate.

The monster in itself is not a high end design, but the movie feels like a colorized old authentic movie. It has a special atmosphere . I appreciated the metaphor for godzilla as a mix of ancient folklore and the spirit of defeat and reconstruction after WW II. I highly recommend this movie if you're into this (specific) genre.

On a personal note, watching the movie is also transcending our (family) history, as many people were taken prisoners by the Japanese. But the enemy, (were and) became victims too. So , Memorial is about your own losses, but maybe also about how your then- enemy, can become a " now"- friend.

Imo, it's not healthy when any one political party (or one head of state for that matter) governs for too many consequent year, and this goes for any country. This would automatically lead to nepotism and corruption, a dysfunctional state as the leaders become more and more estranged from its constituents.
Even though I can empathise towards the voter's choice for upholding the ANC in power for fear of regression to their past regime.
Democracy, though simple in theory, can be very complex in reality.
