How hard was it to get off the avocado toast?

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Well, I just bought a new motorcycle. Going to pick it up later and do some riding. That makes things worth living.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Here's the way I look at it. This is your life and you get to play it out as you please. It's really none of my business to begin with, and I am not really sure how this would come up in casual conversation, so I am hoping to most people it's just not even a topic. I have kids, I have friends that have kids, and even with that basic amount of knowledge we don't sit around chatting about things like that. Don't overthink this, and keep in mind that you make your own decisions. Just because you don't have kids doesn't mean anything either. I have friends with no kids, and gotta say, sometimes I am a little envious. Wouldn't change anything, but it's nothing to feel bad about. Lighten up on yourself and just do what you want to do.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Sounds like you are pretty handy.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

It doesn't have to be all profit, sometimes you do what you can to help the kneedy.

Lemmy seems a lot less toxic than Reddit.

Not sure I am seeing the same. I posted a message about a bash command yesterday and it was almost immediately downvoted. And I have no idea why since it should work for what the person asking wanted/needed. That was one of my big issues with reddit was the sheer negativity that came out of that site and I know I am talking about a single downvote here, but it makes me pause. It has happened more than this one time which is why I get that feeling. I think some people really need to revisit the use of the downvote.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Busy. Maybe it's a time constraint and not willful ignorance as others are suggesting.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

That's exactly how I ended up with a steam account. Bought a Civ V cd and the game isn't on the cd, just an installer for steam and a key.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Quality and size. On a whim I got a fish fillet from McDonalds the other day. At first I thought they gave me a happy meal fish fillet and then I remembered that they don't have that. It was comically smaller than it used to be.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

And does it just stick? If so what's the trick? I pop my popcorn, and it must be some crazy salt resistant mutation. I have ground the salt up in a blender, bought the popcorn salt, etc and it's like the popcorn has some defense mechanism.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

I had no idea that existed. Thanks! I am going to order some.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

I am popping it in a microwave silicon popper. Does a great job popping, but I might have to go back to the oil method and a metal bowl. Thanks.

and ants don’t all arrange themselves and then shout, “Bite… NOW!”

You know, as someone who has stepped in a fire ant pile and not realized it, I am pretty sure they do. They make sure they are all well spread out, and then bam. Not that it makes any difference to this story. Just wanted to pass along my very painful experience.

FTA - “The reason this matters is that no-fault divorce legally allows marriages to end much more quickly than in previous decades. When there are relatively few legal or financial consequences connected with divorce, it’s natural for people to gravitate toward that option when their marriage hits a rough patch,” he adds. “What those people often don’t consider, however, is the harm — both present and future — inflicted on their children once a divorce is finalized.”

This dude is a moron. Newsflash mr carson, having kids trapped in a nightmare where their parents are at war with one another is way more harmful. And what the fuck is he talking about "with few financial consequences"? As someone who just finally paid off credit cards from my divorce years ago, where I never even got to touch the card, he can kiss my ass.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Very good point. Being stuck in a marriage that's unwanted or abusive can be a prison all it's own. Does he want to add to that? Nothing like someone with a holier than thou attitude believing that his ideas of reality need to be forced onto everyone.

I deleted pasts posts with personal information in them after at least two users admitted to doxing me

After two users admitted to doxxing me, and another admitted to digging through all of my past posts and comments, I decided to deleted my past posts. One user put my name, and my husband’s name into a comment box on one of my posts, and then tried to claim he hadn’t doxxed me for that information....

FigMcLargeHuge ,

I am not going to condone any doxxing behavior, but you definitely made it very easy for these people giving them information that, if they didn't have, would have probably made it impossible to figure out. So while their behavior isn't right, I think like others mention in this thread, you have to be very careful with the information you divulge online. Be careful out there.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

I didn't say you did. I said you gave them enough information. Like how unique your names are, etc. I was trying to be subtle and not point out those things.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Ahh the 80's. The absolute shittiest decade for cars in the history of cars.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Well my best friend's mom had an 80's Rabbit Diesel. His dad tuned it for economy, which meant it did 0-60mph in something under a week. We would have killed for something like a GTi.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Touche`

FigMcLargeHuge ,

You have been given the reason for this at least two other times in your other threads. This is because it was arbitration. You need to file for divorce based on being abandoned. Your lawyer will know how to proceed to have it completed with him in absentia.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Don't forget all the in house windows data they are collecting.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Isn't there already a case where a llm assistant quoted a wrong price and the person sued when the company tried to go back on the offer. Maybe it was an airline, I can't quite remember, but it stood up in court and the company had to honor it as far as I remember.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Fantasy Grounds has a 30 day no questions asked guarantee. If you don't like it they will refund your money. Their license goes on sale quite a bit so you might be able to get it at a pretty good discount depending on the timeframe.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

I wonder how many of these lawmakers will be invested in the company that swoops in and saves the American public?

FigMcLargeHuge ,

It's cute how you think that the only government that's using our own data against us is china. Might want to step back and look at our own government, then apply your same line of thinking to all big tech companies in existence right now.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Imagine enjoying a court side seat at a game, studying in a classroom of students and teachers all over the world or consulting with a doctor face-to-face — just by putting on goggles in your home.”

None of that seems appealing to me!

FigMcLargeHuge ,

I am just shocked that he isn't running for president.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

He has my vote any and every day! Brought to you by Carl's Jr.

Mid 80's Bronco. My ex insisted that she had to have a bronco. It had a 302 in it, but holy hell. I am sure it was the fact that they were still trying out emissions schemes but I bet it had less than a hundred hp. It would barely move out of it's own way, and if you got about 6mpg you considered yourself lucky. Toss in an oil leak and it was like driving the Exxon Valdez. I can't decide if the best day of my life was getting rid of the bronco, or her....

Narrator: Both....

Holy shit. Well I still have the EQ, and also the Spectrum Analyzer attached to my new stereo.

Wildfire - Michael Martin Murphey -- Has to be that song.

How did you come up with that? There's not a lobster in sight...

Awesome! Crazy how our brains are wired. Good job there.

Biden vows to reopen Baltimore port, rebuild collapsed Key Bridge ( thehill.com )

President Biden vowed Tuesday to rebuild Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge after it collapsed into the water when a cargo ship rammed into it, echoing what some Maryland officials said earlier but adding that he expects the federal government to foot the bill....

FigMcLargeHuge ,

The problem was the boat.

... and the bridge. Evidently there's no safety structure around the support that would have prevented a ship from hitting the bridge.

I use Fantasy Grounds, and they have a forum and discord with sections for players looking for gm, and reverse. I put a comment in the discord that I was looking for a game to play and within a couple of days had two offers that fit my schedule and have been playing in both games for over a year now. One game we even switched from a couple of Vaesen games to Pathfinder, and once that's done, who knows where we go. The other game is old school DnD, and it has been quite the adventure.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Exactly. The two groups I have joined have all had a core set of people that have played together for years, or are possibly related from what I can tell. I think the most important thing is the commitment, and being consistent. I have a Thursday evening game, and a Sunday evening game now, and I make sure and show up for each. All my family and friends know my gaming nights and that if they call or text me it's going to have to wait. There are cancellations for various reasons, but that's just normal. Everyone has lives and family that might take priority, but what I am talking about is just chit chat. Point is, in my opinion, the key is being available and ready to play on a consistent basis. We have had a lot of churn in one group, but it's mainly some extra people who want to play and then decide it isn't for them I guess, or don't like our gameplay style, or who knows. But the core group of people, which I think I am now part of, are still playing consistently. I say take the plunge and at least get some experience out of it. Change groups if you need, but put some time into playing and it will be worth it in the long run.

So much technology these days seems to be just rolled out without any real world testing done.

FigMcLargeHuge ,

Are these web based? Maybe more specifically, are there generators that I don't need an account to use?
