I just started dual booting to see what Linux could do nowadays. And yes, there's a few games I have trouble playing, but it's mostly games like Subnautica that gives me trouble. And in all honesty, that game barely works in Windows as it is.

I haven't had problems with anti-cheats at all. Like, Helldivers 2 runs as well on Linux as in Windows.

Meh, there's a ton of songs written strictly from female perspectives or with a female audience in mind. From Peggy Lee to the Spice Girls and so on.

I've never gotten around to see Furiosa.
It's a bit weird 'cause I love the Mad Max movies. But the casting Anja and Chris kinda made me lose interest, eventhough I know them both to be fine actors.

I think maybe it's because Hollywood has a tendency to shove their "darlings" into as much as possible when they peak. And I've probably just had my fill.

Well, yeah. It kinda means the series was about expanding the universe, not just cashing in on a current success film.

Mind you , I do think George Miller is still in that mindset... But I'm also kinda afraid he's bowing down to some typical Hollywood shenanigans.

Probably because Valve doesn't make games anymore. Not on any serious level anyway.

Most of their games are old as hell, and most of them where in the "proof of concept" relm. They only really made games to push the technology they were working with.

It'd be a poor argument to bring up their old catalog of games from 20 years ago as something that made them a worse company today.

I think that, regardless of brand, most users just want the most basic (almost blank slate) OS that can run the programs they choose to install.

And that is close to, if not completely, impossible to get if you don't have a mind for Linux.

Paying definitely is a turn off.

How much does a creator's worldview influence whether you use their tech or consume their media?

Watching the drama around kagi unfold and it has me wondering how much you take into consideration a creator's view on things like homophobia, sexism, racism, etc. when deciding to use a product. I think most of us have a bar somewhere (I would imagine very few on this website would ever consider registering on an altright...

It depends. People are allowed to have their own opinions as far as I'm concerned.

If their products are good, I see no reason why I shouldn't use them. Even if I don't agree with said opinion.

However, if they are actively making the world a shittier place for others, then I start to have a problem with them.

Like JKR not being pro-trans is just her opinion. And as far as I know, she hasn't gone on a crusade against anyone yet.

But Blizzard encouraging the sexual harrasment of it's female employees is a totally different beast. And I didnt feel right keeping supporting them.

But it's a line everyone has to figure out for themselves.

I'm not really up to date on JKR to be honest. It was mostly an example of someone who was asked her opinion, gave it and it pissed people off enough for it to become an issue.

There's a reason we shouldn't look to celebrities for answers or anything other than the entertainment they supply.

The question is 'Do they want to keep throwing money at techs in the hope of forcing people to watch their ads?'

At best, people will keep finding ways to get around the ads and YT will have wasted a ton of money on nothing.

At worst, a bunch of people will abandon YT all together. And YT will have wasted a ton of money getting rid of them.

Both options seem self-defeating and wasteful.
