Don't sleep on this story: Trump is looking to rehire convicted felon Paul Manafort, who shared campaign polling data directly with Kremlin agents in the 2016 election and worked to undermine Ukrainian independence. Trump remains Putin's willing and loyal servant.

Can you participate in a thought experiment with me? The posts warning about fascism are good, but I'm wondering what you think fascism actually looks like. Give a thought, and list what it looks like. Don't just say "the end of democracy." List what the concrete changes will be and make it local. "In my town/city/county/state the following will happen......" Think about it before replying. Not just for #BlackMastodon .

The price of Huggies diapers went up 6% between April- June 2023.

Inflation, right? Wrong.

Kimberly-Clark, the maker of Huggies, reported that the cost to make its products fell by $75 million.They took the money and ran, banking $168 million in operating profits in Q3 2023.

Now, new research shows that corporate profits drove 53% of inflation during the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2023. During the 40 years prior to the pandemic, profits drove just 11% of price growth.

Somehow this is not surprising.
Remember how in construction there were all kinds of excuses for ridiculous price increase of up to 300%

It was everything from Covid to Ukraine war. Suddenly Ukraine was the only country in the world who could produce what we needed. Even products that had been produced nationally for decades...

And the covid was used to increase the export price but then why was the price of nationally produced goods also increased.

So let me get this straight. Gov. Abbott of TX says he’ll defy federal law because an “invasion” has happened at the border, but the GOP refuses to fix the border because that would hand Biden a political win? Have I got that right?

One might even suggest that the GOP throwing their glove in with fixing the border would in fact hand anyone but Biden a political win.
