BeOS/Haiku doesn't LOOK even remotely like win9x.

It literally does not.

It has half yellow titlebars whereas win 95 has full titlebars with a solid blue colour (98+ had a gradient). The Tracker was in the top right corner and didn't extend it's height to the bottom. The Taskbar on the other hand was at the bottom corner and extended from left to right.

Those two differences are already enough to make BeOS NOT look anything alike windows 95.

Yeah I guess that's my fault here that I lived through the 90s starting with windows 3.1. I saw Teleshopping praising and selling the illegal BeOS variant Zeta. But I always found it's dockable windows very cool. Something that no other OS ever did, not even today.

Does it? With Dockable Windows I mean the following: you have a file browser and a text editor and you snap them together so the titlebar acts as a tabbar and you can tab between the file browser and the text editor in the same window.

there was a way to play Valorant via qemu and GPU passthrough. But that was long "fixed". Now they are pushing Vanguard onto League as well.

The problem with that is, nobody cares. Basically nobody even knows what a “Kernel” is and what “Kernel-level” means and implies, so it’s just some weird anticheat for them. Also, as long as DRM doesn’t interfere with their playing experience, they don’t care either. Barely anyone will even notice if a few frames are missing, because Denuvo is chilling in the background, keeping the game “safe”.

We are a subset of privacy-minded people in a subset of somewhat knowledgeable gamers. Losing us as customers doesn’t matter in the slightest to the devs/publishers, and nobody else will make a fuss, or at least they’ll not stop spending money.

Yeah, computer illiteracy is pretty bad. Those who don't care make the most money to companies, and they don't even care how the companies invade their privacy and or security.

Problem would be, that the Games you get via NSO are only available as long as you pay the subscription while on other devices the ROMs (or Virtual Console Titles) you put there stay and be accessible.

So yeah, I play my gba, n64, ... via other devices or even physical.

Evercade - I’m a huge fan of the Evercade ecosystem and if a game is available there I will play it there first.

Heck yeah. The Evercade Library is so~ expansive, and the emulation is top-notch! Love that I can hook my Handheld to the VS as an additional controller, share the modules and savestates between the two consoles...
