Ich bin Anarchist und halte wenig von dieser Form der parlamentarischen Demokratie. Ich wähle trotzdem, weil meine Vorstellung einer politischen Ordnung derzeit Utopie ist und mir diese parlamentarische Demokratie immer noch 1000x lieber ist als Faschismus.

I have never met a black person, who accused me of racism, if we disagreed.

I have never met an Asian person who called me racist, if we disagreed.

But surprisingly often, when I disagree with an Israeli about Gaza, no matter which argument I present, the reply is, "This is antisemitism!".

I wonder what upbringing it takes, to make a child believe, that if someone has a different view than you, they must be bad people.

What a dangerous mindset to pass on to future generations.

@randahl i think, if people belonging to a group i regularily 'critisize' regularily call me out on being biased against them, it would be a good step to question myself "might they be right?"
Also, complaining about the fact you're regularily called antisemitic by jews, connecting it with a supposed kind of upbringing, isn't this a little bit... i dunno... antisemitic? (I am NOT a jew btw...)

When Trump openly and repeatedly exclaims that migrants are “poisoning the blood of our country,” or shares a video calling for a “unified Reich,” he is literally echoing the language of Hitler.

Trump is not a “populist.” He’s not a “strongman.” He is a fascist.

Use the word.

An NPR reporter collected samples of raw milk from 4 farms in Texas, and asked a USDA-authorized lab to test for bird flu. The lab refused to do it, because the farms wouldn't give them permission to test, even though permission isn't required. Wow.

@luckytran dunno if it's related but we had a sheep disease some years ago; several sheep died. We wanted the "Tierseuchenkasse" (sort of CDC for animals in Germany) to test the cadavers. They refused.
Totally unrelated side info: If there's a recognized disease they have to pay money to farmers who lost animals. But ofc this has nothing to do with their refusal.

@lowqualityfacts indeed one shouldn't demand a ceasefire from Israel, those long-nosey vampires just want to make Matze with palestinian baby blood. Maybe ask Hamas, they are known to be very rational and constructive, full of love for all human beings including jews, queers, women...
For sure they'll joyfully agree.

@tzimmer_history Violence to gain/hold power works because there are so many people who abhor violence so much, they'd rather hand over power to fascists 'peacefully' than fight them (or at least support others who fight).
Analogue to the "tolerance paradoxon" i call it a "pacifist paradoxon". We need to be pacifistic, yes. But not when it comes to fascism.
