I’m of the firm belief that all comic book movies should be banned from Framed.

For example, the other day it was the second Venom movie. One frame had a magazine with Stan Lee on the cover, so it was clearly a Marvel movie, but there are dozens of those. Then a sign for Ravencroft hospital; Google told me this is common in Spider-Man. But there are like fifty fucking Spider-Man movies at this point.

AND IT WAS AN OFFSHOOT OF FUCKING SPIDER-MAN

Today’s was just as bad.

Part of the fun of Framed (for me at least) is being able to guess movies I haven’t seen but am aware of through cultural osmosis. The trouble with the Marvel movies is that they’re all functionally identical. You see a frame where Hulk is talking to Black Widow and it could be one of literally four or five movies.

@RolloTreadway Yep, exactly the same. Hardy gave me Venom, IMDB gave me that there’s a sequel.

@RolloTreadway Similarly, a couple of weeks back I learned that there’s a new Ghostbusters movie that had come out a day or two before.

How can a whole-ass Ghostbusters movie turn up and I have no idea? Am I that out of the loop these days? If so, good stuff!

I know it's a bit gauche to talk of money, but our council tax bill has just come in and it's a little shy of three grand. The roads around here are riddled with potholes, the rubbish collection guys are more like 'throw rubbish all over the place' guys, the local libraries no longer exist (both ones near me have been closed) and services (police etc) have all publicly had their funding slashed. So what are we paying such a high premium for?

Been reading a thread about Britain’s ‘obesity epidemic’, and it’s amazing how many thin people know how to fix it.

People clamber over themselves to wax lyrical about how we should encourage more exercise (we should), and how fast food joints should be held to account (they should), but the loudest voices never talk about it being a mental health issue.

I’m a fat fuck, I know I should exercise more and eat better. I did that for a year once and lost 30kg. Then I put it all back on again.

I know exactly how to lose weight, but it’s really. fucking. hard. Like, the hardest thing you’ll ever have to do. You have to spend months or years depriving yourself of the things that you’ve learned bring you a shard of happiness.

But say you manage that and you lose loads of weight and everyone is complementing you on how good you look. Then what?

Then you have to spend every waking moment being aware of the things you just can’t have, because you can’t be trusted.

@vampiress Huh, it’s amazing how far we’ve come in terms of energy efficiency.

How long did the AAs in a Lynx last? And how many of them were there? Now the SteamDeck is a full blown gaming PC in the same sized form factor that can almost certainly last longer.

@guffo @vampiress I never played with a Lynx. How big is it next to a Gameboy?

edit: Should have just searched, because I found the answer. A GB is about 1/3 smaller than a Lynx. Which was, yes, a UNIT.
