Idk about infinite, if they stop getting updates they will eventually get phased out and if you can't download the application it's also dead. All that aside the sun is going to go super nova eventually.

Also a lot of people don't want to self host. I doubt you self host your own Lemmy instance for instance.

Chriswild ,

Decades is far from infinite

Chriswild ,

This building looks like I feel clocking in for work.

Chriswild ,

I get that plastic is cheap, common, and often wasteful but it is also shock resistant, light, and transparent.

Reddit: 'We Are in the Early Stages of Monetizing Our User Base' ( www.404media.co )

Reddit said in a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission that its users’ posts are “a valuable source of conversation data and knowledge” that has been and will continue to be an important mechanism for training AI and large language models. The filing also states that the company believes “we are in the early...

Chriswild ,

Because it's like old forums where the first person to comment gets engagement

Chriswild ,

Fuck the Senate and giving representation unequally.

Why the fuck do CA and WY get the same representation in the Senate other than because some old slave owners pitched a fit about not having power over more populated states.

Chriswild ,

How does that make the Senate important?

Chriswild ,

You're literally arguing that people shouldn't get equal representation because you think land votes.

Chriswild ,

Checks and balances that give inequality. Lol

Chriswild ,

So Californians should just live in Wyoming to get represented?

Chriswild ,

They have the least representation per capita

Chriswild ,

I'm not going to pay for Spotify either. Music should be a federated platform where you can purchase music directly from the artist and not pay massive corporations like Spotify, Google, or Apple for the luxury of doing nothing.

Chriswild ,

Wait why wouldn't they? People piss and shit and if you damage a rental with it, you're billed for it. I feel like you're very angry about a problem you made up.

Chriswild ,

Because antitrust is bad for the stock market and politicians are heavily invested in the stock market.

Chriswild ,

Millennials are in their 40's now and you're claiming half owning homes is good. Only half owning homes for a generation that will soon stop having children is actually really bad.

Chriswild ,

No they're not. Deficits like this are from not taxing the rich and corporations. Trump alone is like 40% of the deficit because of this.

Chriswild ,

My concern with this is they said nothing about the exchange of air or heat in this space. Such a small space would get very warm pretty quickly and with it not touching anything it would retain the heat. The air would also not exchange unless you manually did it making it eventually suffocate you.

Chriswild ,

They said you could bring things in so I suppose you could bring the air with you.

After a quick googling it looks like the average person breathes 20-30 cubic meters of air a day.

But a server wouldn't care about oxygen in the air just the heat.

Chriswild ,

Whenever I buy fruit in bulk the first thing I do is remove them from the box and separate them all out. As long as cops see themselves as a brotherhood they've not been separated out.

Chriswild ,

Doesn't mean he's not? I don't know of a single person who isn't desperate when clinging to Trump.

You can have millions of dollars of income but millions of dollars of stupid expenses.

Chriswild ,

They have over 450 employees and operate in six different countries. I don't know what DnD would be worth but it's not like Larian is small.

Logically I think it makes more sense for Larian to want to buy the video game rights specifically as anything beyond that would be outside their scope.

Chriswild ,

Two of the other powers are in some ways worse than not having powers. Flying slower than you can drive a car is pretty pointless unless in extremely nice situations. Then running near the speed of soud could cause you permanent damage to the ears or eyes just from pushing through the air.

Invisibility is fine but mostly useful for nefarious purposes. But theoretically you could get a form or invisibility through telekinesis if you can control photons. You probably wouldn't be able to see or hold it as long without suffocating but it's something.

Chriswild ,

Hell the phone knows your carrier from the SIM in it. It's not like you can VPN your way outta that.

Chriswild ,

A lot of them have mentors who are just hateful bigots.

Chriswild ,

Probably because ICE cars can't heat when scheduled because they can kill you while EV can heat on schedule.

They brought up how the feature is a subscription to their displeasure but ICE app integration would likely also be a subscription.

Chriswild ,

Well if you pay taxes all the time and are used to gaining nothing for it, it feels like the bonuses are free.

Chriswild ,

Alcohol doesn't really taste good and neither do cigarettes.

People often times have illnesses that make these types of things consume their life. It's easy to look down on them but they honestly need help.

Chriswild ,

I'd still consider it an exploitation or mental illnesses. Some people are just predisposed to getting addicted and struggle way harder. Just like some people can't help themselves and gamble their lives away.

I agree that they clearly design games to be as addictive and consuming as possible but it's still an exploitation of mental illnesses. I have never had to struggle with addiction so I feel a bit judgemental if I assume others are just ruining their life by choice.

Chriswild ,

Raise taxes for every employee cut. Every job cut in a tax year increases the corporate tax on profit for that year.

Chriswild ,

Not really? Boredom is boredom and it sounds like you're doing the same thing people said about video games and TV and rock and and and.

Chriswild ,

By this criticism I believe music would also fit as you're passive.

Here's the quick and dirty of it: Entertainment is about exploiting our brain and short-form-video is just the new thing.

Why the hell would I be bothered by SFV and not care about diets that do way worse for the health of an individual?

Chriswild ,

I don't think everyone who listens to music is engaging with the music. People will be shocked that Rage Against the Machine is political despite listening to them for years.

My issue with SFV is entirely with the content that is more popular in the medium. I've seen SFV that promotes learning in bite-sized chunks and I've seen some that are entirely wholesome and uplifting. Just like some people can watch Jersey Shore, read Atlas Shrugged, or listen to mumble rap and I will consider that a waste.

I don't think I have the right to tell everyone what they can do with their time. So I don't support the condemnation of something just because I don't approve of it.

Chriswild ,

Because it's her body and she can do whatever she wants with it.

Chriswild ,

For the immensely wealthy it's at least self serving. It's the poor people who parrot that shit who I worry about.

Chriswild ,

It doesn't even need to be plastic. The battery could slot into the side of the phone on a tray with a gasket to try and seal it.

Personally I don't think the battery needs to be as easily replaced if it lasts longer. Lithium ion cells degrade too quickly but a lithium iron phosphate cold last for 10 years before dropping below 85% charge capacity.

The only drawback is they have about 30% less energy density but imo making the battery 30% larger is not a big deal. Phones have obsessed with being pointlessly thin for so long. Basically just remove the dumb camera bump.

Chriswild ,

But it can't afford to run less efficient tires because it has too much air resistance and the range would suffer. There's a reason why other Teslas have no flat panels or straight lines.

It's a 100,000 vehicle with plastic hubcaps.

Chriswild ,

Lol I used to keep a bale of straw in the bed all winter to get traction. Apparently I'm a hillbilly.

Chriswild ,

Most SUVs and Trucks now are pavement princesses. I respect the hell out of people who buy minivans now.

Chriswild ,

Lol good point

Chriswild ,

It's also isometric and you can move units around the map to attack enemies.

Chriswild ,

I'm pretty sure it's for tax deductions as it's a loss if they cancel it. The cost to host the show would be completely negotiable as people would just watch something else.

Chriswild ,

I'm pretty sure that's not the case and that they can't write it off as a loss unless they cancel it. I've specifically read about that happening with HBO, Disney and Netflix.

To chalk it up to stupidity when it's a reoccurring thing among big businesses is stupidity; they're doing it for a reason and typically that reason is money.

Chriswild ,

I'm pretty sure you can manage a search about why streaming platforms remove shows. Disney did it with Willow and HBO did it with loads of shows after the merger.

It's not like you have cited shit and you're the one making claims about taxes from the start.

Chriswild ,

Maybe? I dislike them because a mixer and an oven do much better and are easier to clean. I don't even know if they can make bread with a starter.

Chriswild ,

The desert is the only reason it is habitable, if it were less arid the humidity would make it even worse. The largest desert on earth is Antarctica, deserts don't have to be hot, just low precipitation.

But what deserts do very well is solar potential due to lack of cloud cover and I don't know why we can't use solar to power electric rail for public transportation.
