I've seen pics of Knave 2e in the wild, so I went to the KS page to check and see if there were any more shipping updates that I may have missed and I discovered a bunch of people in the comments that were really (and disproportionately) bent out of shape that they sold some copies at Gary Con back in March (never mind that we got our finalized PDFs in February). Talk about first world problems...

@Tim_Eagon it's definitely a bit disappointing that people who weren't involved in funding it were able to get the physical game literally months before the backers will/would.

It's in absolute poor taste AND their first response when people complained about was pretty shit: "Well you're not even one of the deluxe backers so it doesn't effect you."

Which... Wow.

The (agreed) overblown entitlement behavior spiraled out from there; but it could absolutely have been avoided too.

Small progress, but finally set up with the fancy lens, pretty happy with the results so far.

    @SJohnRoss as time goes on the idea of a game designer has become more "engineer" than "storyteller" - which is objectively tragic.

    Gygax and Arneson weren't brilliant game designers - they were worldbuilders presented with an opportunity.

    Now the rush is on to create a mechanically complete ttrpg that fits on a postcard.

    @SJohnRoss oh agreed- you have to focus on the things that ttrpgs can do that other forms of play cannot- apply critical thinking and creative problem solving to a fantasy setting.

    Storytelling might be the wrong word here- Storyweaving perhaps.

    @Tim_Eagon I knew kids like that back before streaming was a thing but I can only imagine it's become more prevalent since.
