Last fall, I started plonking down root bound blocks out of planters into the sunny, dry, poor soil part of the yard. I’m kind of trying to build it up a bit, but minimally I want to see what lives and if the soil changes.

This plant with big long floppy leaves grew and I have no idea what it is. The little flowers on the spike are so pretty though!

Close picture of open blooms on the flower spike. The flowers have one layer of white petals with multiple fluffy bright purple bits sticking out of the middle. There is bright yellow pollen on top of the purple bits. Sunlight cuts across the area with open blooms. The rock wall it behind. The unopened buds are green or a yellowish white.

@sollat my first thought is that it looks like one of the white flowered Verbascum, but i don't know them well enough to say for sure.

That does look like a similar flower shape. Maybe I bought some seeds. Thanks!
