I like to ask a variety of questions, sometimes silly, serious, and/or strange. Never asking in an attempt to pester or “just asking questions” stuff.
I’m generally curious and/or trying to get a sense of people’s views.

Discoverability in this context meaning the ability to more effectively find public communities/people of interest. Alongside improving this however, respecting people's decisions on whether and how they may be found, if at all.
By novel I mean not emulating an existing popular platform, e.g. Lemmy-Reddit, Mastodon-Twitter, etc.

It's kind of silly, but I still really dig the idea behind torrenting and peer to peer sharing of data. It's cool to think about any old computer helping pass along some odd bits & bytes of data, whether a goofy drawing or strange story.
It's fun to find stuff people make mostly for the sake of it and put out there, but it's also often not easy to find, even when they're sharing it for others to enjoy or to receive some feedback....
In a similar vein to the question of separating art from the artist, I think it's also worth discussing how one approaches appreciating art despite its often industrial and commercial origins....

It's helpful to take a few steps back from time to time to reassess where we're each coming from on our knowledge of tech (or anything) to better communicate.
Personally, I'm not a fan of either, so it's always been a little interesting to me to run into people that are more averse to hearing a recording of their voice....
In thinking on the classic Sartre quote concerning the folly of arguing with anti-Semites as if they're arguing in good faith, as well as the Swift quote regarding reasoning being unable to correct an ill opinion one didn't reason themselves into...It's left me thinking that perhaps a way to alter the path of those astray is to...
Filling meals always seem tricky to me, healthy or otherwise, so I'm always on the lookout for more things to try.
Do you think it works okay, at least so far as local/federated communities go? What are some adjustments you might like to see to it?...
I realize this is a very broad question, so to help I'll mention that my primary experience with any programming language is Python. I've looked into C and C++ as well, but I haven't written much in them; in part because they're more involved, and in part because I get lost in the IDE weeds with'em (whether choosing an IDE or...
I feel like I may be missing something when it comes to BlueSky, or maybe both I and those trying it out are but in different ways. My understanding is that BlueSky is currently like the Mastodon Social instance is for Mastodon but of the AT Protocol under development, with the long term aim being that once their protocol is...

Thanks for all the interesting replies! Given the response, I decided to make a whole community around this, hope you'll consider joining!...
