#NathanWade has resigned from his role leading the investigation of #Trump, & #FaniWillis, the #FultonCounty DA, has accepted it, acc/to letters from the 2 prosecutors just released.
#Wade’s resignation paves the way for #Willis to keep pursuing the case against Trump & his allies after today's ruling from Judge Scott #McAfee.
In a letter accepting #NathanWade’s resignation from the #Trump prosecution, #FaniWillis writes: “I compliment you for the professionalism & dignity you have shown over the last 865 days, as you have endured threats against you & your family, as well as unjustified attacks in the media & in court on your reputation as a lawyer.”
@Nonilex
Judge Scott #McAfee did two things:
(a) found for Fani #Willis
(b) excoriated Willis and #NathanWade.with no effect other than suggesting Wade be booted and inviting a motion for a gag order.
McAfee will be reelected. Republicans will be happy with the words. Democrats will be happy Willis is back on the case.
Wade will be okay. On his next cases, he'll make more than Fulton County was paying.
The #evidence against #Trump & his 17 co-defendants in #Georgia is the same whether presented by Fani #Willis or any other prosecutor. The same.
Would it have made a difference in their deliberations If the grand jurors knew or suspected that Willis was having an affair with a co-worker? Maybe, but only if it caused them to doubt the evidence. After all. Willis wasn't a jilted lover of Trump or a co-defendant or one of their attorneys.
