i've not been in the TTRPG space for a long time yet, i only got started two-ish years ago.

it seems like there's a lot of misprints in ToV. is that normal for the first round printing of a larger TTRPG?

I backed Tales of the Valiant and Shadowdark and probably a few others I’m forgetting, but I find I can’t get excited about them because at their heart, they are still 5e D&D and I’m just tired of anything directly evolved from D&D. I’ve played enough of them over the years, and I really want new games.

That said I’m excited by the new version of Talislanta, even though I don’t expect it to be very different at all. But that’s getting a classic back in print.

what they promised broadly: an updated and more freely licensed game based very closely on D&D5e.

what we got broadly: pretty much that. and it's plenty good enough to switch to from 5e, even if it could have been better.

there's a lot of good and bad, gonna thread some thoughts

launched a new for the "Tales of the Valiant Game Master's Guide".

After taking a look at the table of contents from the free preview, this seems like everything the official DMG could (should?) have been, but never was.
