Around #solstice, the #sunlight of the setting Sun fills a room in my house. The door of that room has a small #keyhole that lets a bit of light go outside the room, projecting it onto a hallway wall. It becomes like a giant #CameraObscura. Here's a short #timelapse of todays' #Sun at sunset projected on the wall.
I had hoped to add some #ffmpeg hardware acceleration on the #timelapses at @alberniweather using the old AMD RV730 card in #footiMac but I've not found the magic command to make it happy. I got close I think, but it seems to just refuse to connect to the video driver.
If there are any ffmpeg experts out there familiar with vaapi and old AMD graphics cards, I'd love to have a little help.

But It does make for a great rubberduck.
Even if it doesn't give you a perfect answer.
New painting from me, referencing my own photo from Portugal. Just got to love that dappled sunlight. And the wall textures were fun with my brush set.
I plan to do a triptych of these sunny bits of architecture I saw on my trip (way back in 2016), and this is the first of the three.
Slowly working my way through a few terabytes of timelapses shot in Feb and March.
Just after dinner we saw auroras poking through gaps in the cloud. I setup my first camera outside the rental cabin, pointed across the fjord to capture the clouds rolling by.
For the next hour I was helping my FIL shoot the more active auroras in the east. And didn't realise that my cloud timelapse was turning into an aurora timelapse :) Huge win.
