Success for proud Papa and Mama Canada Goose

I was too late for their introduction to the pond, but here they are crossing some pavement. Two adult Canada Geese, Papa and Mama, alertly watching the five new goslings walk along side Mama. Papa is off to the side facing the group, as if he were directing traffic. The goslings are itsy bitsy fluff balls of yellow and brown with little webbed feet. Two know-it-alls are out front while the remaining three are safely beside Mama. The may be heading to another pond in the area, but I didn't follow.

    The lake is so immense and the opposite shore seems so far away. And we are just little geese. But if we stick together and swim with determination, we can cross this lake.
