Hat jemand eine Amazfit Balance oder eine Huawei Watch Fit 3? Und benutzt sie in Kombination mit der ? Dann teilt eure Erfahrungen. Nächste Woche habe ich beide Smartwatches hier und werde den Betrieb mit der Gadgetbridge ausprobieren.

New deadlift PR today! I think I could do another 20 lbs but my coach is taking it slow, and I trust her.

@blackcoat And I am lifting with plates incremented in kg! I still think in lbs, though

That's awesome! Keep at it. Those PRs never stop feeling great. 👍

relies on a doctor who is a member of his golf club to vouch for his health

After Trump escalated his longstanding attacks on Pres ’s & last fall, he released the 1st updated report on his own condition in >3 yrs.
The report had just 3 paragraphs w/o specific numbers, proclaimed that Trump was in “excellent health” & had “exceptional” cognitive ability, & did not disclose Trump’s weight.

And two days after that article was published, Bornstein later told NBC News, a White House official and two others conducted a “raid” on his office to obtain the president’s medical records, which he said made him feel “raped, frightened and sad.” The White House responded at the time that it was “standard operating procedure” to obtain the documents and denied that it was a raid.

seems [ takes some official seriously.]

I have done it in the past but, alas, I did not have 225 in me today. I did complete a set at 205, though.

@clarkvalentine man brag away, you're outlifting me today so it motivates me too!

My back is not injured, but it is saying “Hey, you did a very heavy dead lift today, two of them in fact, and I think we should talk about that.”

Liliki ,

@clarkvalentine Ha! My legs and butt are threatening to move out and sue me for aggravated abuse 🤭 (I'm rehabbing a double knee replacement)

clarkvalentine , to random
@clarkvalentine@dice.camp avatar

I bench pressed 215* today, not counting the collar weight, for 3 reps. I'm pretty proud of that.

A year ago I'd set a goal of 225 for myself that's been delayed by an elbow injury/surgery, and I'm glad to see that was only a delay.

10 more lb to go.

  • It's not a competition. If you're into lifting and you can do 305, or you can do 65, that's excellent, being strong is awesome no matter how you define it
clarkvalentine OP ,
@clarkvalentine@dice.camp avatar

And there’s 225, single rep. That didn’t take long.

Working out while traveling means learning the rules and routine of a different gym. For me it’s still worth doing, but I totally understand why it’s not for a lot of people.

clarkvalentine OP ,
@clarkvalentine@dice.camp avatar

That’s if you’re lucky that the place you’re staying has a gym. This place shares a building with a for-real fitness center, so they have us use that. So much nicer than a hotel “fitness room” with two stationary bikes and an incomplete set of dumbbells.

Did the same program of deadlifts and RDLs today that I did last week - that made my back super sore - and not even a twinge today. Much better core bracing. Feels good.

hadoken ,
@hadoken@dice.camp avatar

@clarkvalentine I’ve been finding the same after deadlifts. First time I go up in weight or reps, it crushes me. Next session is all good.

I am very grateful to all those who have donated, thank you so much! If I could shake some more pennies from the privileged among you to get me over the line, it would make the pain worthwhile. 🥲

If you’re unable to donate, I totally get that — but if you could boost it to those who may be able to, I’d really appreciate it!

A line graph showing my weekly running distance for the last 12 weeks. The first 8 weeks are between 0-20 km per week, then there is a sharp incline showing 43, 70, 70 and 89 km per week.

Let’s get personal, shall we? I’ve been here a while now, and as I’m feeling quite comfortable at Mastodon, I’d like to share a bit more about myself beyond my passion for the climate and the environment.

To begin with, I’m a male, he/him, hetero, strongly supporting LGBTQ rights. I’m a baby boomer, born at 312 PPM 🌏, a United Statesian, although I lived in Europe (mostly Hungary) for several years, and traveled extensively for work before retiring in 2012. I’ve never been good at sustaining long-term romantic relationships, and I’ve finally settled into comfortable singlehood.

I like to say I’m made of contrasts.

For example, I’m rather funny and quite personable, but I don’t enjoy small talk and I hate parties. I currently live in the Bible Belt, but I’m an outspoken atheist. While I can easily fit into most social situations, I don’t feel comfortable around large groups and prefer being alone most of the time. I live near two huge military bases, but I detest the USA’s militaristic, troop-worshiping culture. I’m almost always cheerful, which masks my deeply felt existential nihilism. I’m a neat freak, but also rather lazy, preferring fun over work.

I’ll finish up with some hashtags to add flavor...

#AkiraKurosawa #AlfredHitchcock #AntiCapitalism #AntiWar #Atheism #Beatles #Bicycle #Biodiversity #BusterKeaton #CalvinAndHobbes #Chocolate #ClassicFilm #ClimateAction #ClimateCollapse #ClimateJustice #EndangeredSpecies #Environmentalism #Existentialism #Extinction #Fitness #GlobalWarming #Inequality #Nature #OceanAcidification #OnePartySystem #Permafrost #Pollution #Reading #SilentMovies #Socialism #SpeciesLoss #TippingPoints #Walking #Yoga #Introduction

Me: My shoulder hurts, I’m getting old

My inner monologue: Well, keep in mind you did four sets on the inclined bench and four sets on the level bench today

Me: Huh, you’re right. I’m not old yet!

MIM: Nice try my dude, you’re fuckin’ old, just old that also exercises

In happier news, less than a year ago I injured my back on a single deadlift, today I did full sets at that weight and am not even sore.

clarkvalentine , to random
@clarkvalentine@dice.camp avatar

Not pushing my PR single deadlift up right now, but I’m getting to the point where I can do sets of 5 at 90% of that PR without a ton of effort. That’s solid progress.
