Often arrested for her advocacy, Medea Benjamin is one of the most prominent figures of the pro-Palestine movement in Washington, DC.

In an interview with TRT World, she explains why, as a Jew and as an American, it is essential to advocate for a permanent and immediate ceasefire in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.

To this day, her niece, Lina Abu Akleh says she and her family have been unable to hold anyone accountable, and in the process they’ve witnessed the systematic killing of more journalists by the Israeli military in Gaza.
“The fact that there was no justice for Shireen has paved the way for the systematic targeting of journalists.”
