A slushy snow, hail-damp day brings out the birds to commiserate with each other while Wisconsinites head to the polls to vote.

A slightly damp and slush acquainted dark-eyed junco on a semi-curly willow branch. the branch is covered in the recent slushy snow. There are slushy bits still falling from the sky.
An American Goldfinch outfitted in its nearly complete summer finery. The presentation is slightly muted by the apparent slushy snow covering everything and still falling.

Soon!!! Spring sees the male Northern Red Cardinal songbird, perched conspicuously in the Lilac bush just starting to leaf out. The male Cardinal is unmistakable, even from a distance, with it's vibrant, bright crimson plumage.
