A Masked Gnatcatcher inspects its surroundings. They won't stay put, hopping from place to place incessantly. I like the first picture with the utility wires and stuff because it gives a sense of scale on how freaking tiny they are.

Closeup of the songbird after it hopped onto a higher wire, now against the blue sky. It still looks tiny, but the photo has been cropped closer

A vivid, male Northern Red Cardinal perches on a bare branch amidst a snowy scene. The bright red color of the songbird stands out against the muted tones of the winter pinkish background.

Yesterday I learnt that can produce two seperate songs at the same time. Instead of a voicebox they have a Syrinx, and can control whether they use their left lung or right lung to push air through the left or right of the syrinx, thus producing two seperate sounds or songs.

make me happy.
