I'd be interested in views on whether the July GE, proroguing UK Parliament, and 'purdah' rules for the Civil Service and Ministers will put a halt to the Tory 'culture wars' motivated consultations on:
England & Wales (statutory) schools guidance on sex education - aka Section 28 reprise
England & Wales (non-statutory) guidance on treatment of trans kids in schools
Starmer isn’t perfect blah blah blah. If I can vote for Corbyn, which I did despite loathing him, you can vote for Starmer without being a bellend about it.
I say this on repeat, the mission has always been to stop the tories winning. We can argue about the details later. #UKPol
If you toot your hot takes about the imminent general election in the UK with the #ukpol hashtag or as a CW, people who don't wish to see it can easily filter it out.
You chat as you wish, and their timelines are cleansed.
Otherwise they'll probably just mute or block you :)
Dear UK #Students, get yourselves on the #ElectoralRoll right now as you will be at home in July. Tell you families, tell your neighbours, tell your friends.
“The UK and Ireland face a wetter, damper and mouldier future due to #climatechange Until the world reduces emissions to net zero, the climate will continue to warm, and rainfall in the UK and Ireland will continue to get heavier.”
"The Slow-Motion Execution of Julian Assange Continues"
"The ruling by the High Court in London permitting Julian Assange to appeal his extradition order leaves him languishing in precarious health in a high-security prison.
The 'leak' of the new schools policy on 'sex education' is actually even more insidious than you think.
Saying that "nine year olds" are being fed 'inappropriate' content - that was waved through by the Tories btw - they want you to go and defend it, to protect the LGBTQ+ related content, so they can then 'prove' you're a 'groomer'.
@appassionato
This is standard practice in states dominated by the Two Party system (or #Uniparty ). Both parties collude to place immense obstacles before anyone trying to disrupt the cosy little Tweedledum / Tweedldee arrangement. All 5 Eyes countries have exactly the same approach.
Count Binface urges Sadiq Khan to adopt his policies: "He said he was pleased with his share of the vote having beaten the far-Right party Britain First, and hoped Mr Khan would adopt some of his policies"
Starting to wonder if Labour was doing great expectations management on Sadiq Khan, because looks like he's strolling home as polls forecast (vs rumors and vibes yesterday)
Other explanation is typical Tory over confidence vs Labour doom-and-gloomism ever since 1992
Dylan Difford @Dylan_Difford, one of my favorite indie pollsters - on the Blackpool by-election result from the other place
"Blackpool South by-election - 26.3pt swing is 7pts greater than the seat in MRP averages, 10pts higher than national polls and, most crucially, larger than my graphic was designed for"
"Over the past four-and-a-half-years, the 14m people who voted Tory in 2019 have splintered in various directions, with just 4 in 10 now saying they'll vote for the party - less than under Truss. Here's how they've said and currently say they'll vote, each block 100k voters"
